Default What is the difference between JV and Affiliate?

If I am selling a product what is the difference between finding a JV partner vs. finding an affiliate to promote the product?

It would appear that the use of the term JV has been manipulated so much that JV and affiliate have become the same thing in most people's eyes.

When I was starting out, a J.V. was a joint venture, where two or more people would get together to work on a project and build on it.

An affiliate was just that, an affiliate for the finished product.

In most recent launches, product creators have started calling affiliates by the term J.V. in some desperate attempt to make the "proposal" seem more than it is.

Some people seem to believe that this question:

Would you like to become a J.V. (partner) for my next product?

Sounds more appealing than

Would you become an affiliate for my next product?

Essentially, they both mean the same thing, since people started abusing the term J.V.. unless of course, we are talking about a real Joint Venture!

Peace

Jay

I don't see the "Thanks" button. Probably another of the features that is disabled until I have a certain number of posts or days as a member.
