I live in Pa and want to start selling info products online. I just wanted to know if I needed a business license and if so what do I need. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

    I'm not giving legal advice but I'd first start with understanding all the basic online income models and then pick one and then get busy.

    As soon as you start making money or have money to spare, get the required licenses etc.

    But get started on the learning and doing part of the equation.

    If you are planning a proper business, then you should set up a DBA or doing business as - for starters.

    I'm not sure what the procedure is exactly in PA - but you can google it.

    In CT I went to the town hall and got my name (costs 5 bucks here) and I filed somewhere for the business (so long ago I don't even remember) and listed all the things my business was going to cover and this cost me I think around 80 bucks. This got me a thing for sales and use tax - so for example I could buy video tapes and not pay tax on them as I would be reselling them and collect the tax on the back end.
