Did youtube change their default settings?

Up until 2 weeks ago, when I was viewing a vid on YT, all the comments were visible -- most recent comment at the top. Now, all the comments are hidden -- and when I select "show all comments" and "save changes" it STILL does not show all comments -- I must click on "show all comments" then all the comments DO appear -- but oldest comment at the top.

The "save changes" button does nothing -- and the default, UNchangable setting is to hide all comments.

Any advice on how to 'fix' this problem?

I want it to be how it was before -- all the comments showing by default, and the most recent comment at the top.
