Dragon naturally speaking is great

fellow warriors

I got Dragon NaturallySpeaking yesterday and finally got a train to understand me almost perfectly now I'm using it to write this post.

Sometimes it comes up with some cracking lines as I write this I have not made one mistake yet.

I started today using it to write articles, which has been really easy as I just lie down on my bed and talk to the computer no typing is needed.

I can see the software saving me a massive amount of time in the future especially as he learned more and more about my language.

This is pretty weird talking to my computerbut it is becoming more natural and people stop staring now.

The only thing that annoys me is that I wonder why I have not bought it sooner is writing is now so much easier and I think it's fantastic.

This is quite a random post however I think you all will get the gist.

Go out and buy Dragon NaturallySpeaking save you so much time in the future!

All the best

Danny

I am actually using it right now, it saves me so much time.

I use it so much that is dictates almost all of my words correctly.

It is a serious time saver.

I bought the $50.00 version at Target about 6 months ago and even that version is awesome. It is a serious time saver if you market by creating a lot of content. The more you use it the better it gets.

Has anyone tried the Mac equivalent, Mac Speech Dictate?, apparently a few bugs in the software and was wondering if anyone's using it and what their experience has been so far.

Great, I think it's definitely worth looking into, especially with my hands getting a little strained from time to time, thanks for that.

    Hi Danny

It was interesting to hear about Dragon again, I tried it nearly 10 years ago, I found it was ok but probably didn't spend enough time perfecting it. At the time it wold get affected a lot by background noises, is that still the case or not too bad.

The funny thing is, reading your lines of post, you could kind of tell that it was dictated rather than typed, althought that probably becomes more natural with practice. Actually, maybe that is an advantage with emails though as it would sound more like how you would talk to a friend?

    Thanks anyway for the post

how how is it going Warriors?

man I love this software I managed to write a 600 word article today pretty quickly and only took a little while to adjust the bad grammar.

Still take some time to get used to using this I think in the future it will learn my voice and I should be to keep reading off text and articles very quickly.

At this moment in time I think that is worth every single penny I've paid for it. By next week my article writing would be a lot quicker than fingers crossed I should make a lot more money.

Has anybody got any good tips from making Dragon NaturallySpeaking a lot quicker and better or is this as good as it gets.

I have dictated this message again and seems to be getting better right I must go now as I have a lot of work to get on with my sites.

Writing new content on my website has now got a lot more fun.

    All the best

    Danny

PS I will get better at writing more fluently in future I hope

you won't find trial version anywhere I have looked.

    Hey Danny,

I've been postponing installing Dragon until I got this new PC running Vista. My Dragon version is v9 (but) which upon running Setup, it gave me an error saying the OS required was XP or Win2000?

Just checked out the knowledge base on the Nuance site which gave me some regedit instructions - did you have to do this to install your version?

I am especially wanting to get Dragon installed so I can speed up my content creation and submission process using the a couple of new SaaS solutions I got going with audio video robot and traffic-bug.

Hi Danny - do you have to proofread the copy afterwards? I'm noticing run-on sentences in your posts and I'm just wondering about that.

I found it's great at first but then it makes so many mistakes I have to go over every last word just to be sure I don't send out bad material. Talking into it slow seems to work but then that gets rid of the purpose of using it in the first place.

Talking slow defeats the purpose but DNS tells you not to talk slow. Use normal speech. After a while it will make less mistakes. It will work with you.

Does it matter which version you buy? I see they have a few versions and wondering if the cheap one does not perform as well.

I totally agree, DNS is an awesome tool that helps me speed up productivity and prevents me from having to type as much.

I'm a huge fan of DNS. I like it so much I bought it for my VAs and am having them use it for all our content creation needs. One of them has a strong accent so it took a little while to get it trained properly (this is version 9), but now it works like clockwork!

Thanks for the recommendation! Looks like I need to go check this out as I realised I'm typing pretty slow and can't catch up with the ideas in my head.

By the way is it necessary to have a dedicated sound card? And what's a good microphone that you all would recommend as I might use it for my Kodak Zi8 too if I'm getting it?
