Compared to music, movie, etc., as there is less saturation, competition, room for expansion, etc. ? Or am I too green and haven't yet scratched the surface of Internet marketing? |

Here's the way I view it: My main income (as of now) comes from teaching guitar and piano. When asking myself if IM is too saturated to bother getting into I always remind myself of how many people in the US alone make an income by teaching guitar and piano. Why should learning to make money online be any different? I know you talking more about the perspective of making money with it but I'm pretty sure that there will never be a shortage of new people looking to learn more about new, fun and exciting ways to make money. My thoughts anyway. Mike |

"Do you agree that IM is the least cutthroat industry to make money in?" I say it's just the opposite, but depends on your skill level to some degree. For newbies I think IM is usually the absolute worst place to start. Not only is it hyper-competitive, but it's filled with sharks that already know all the tricks, (including black hat tricks like cookie stuffing) have all the bonuses, have huge lists and many times big reputations. IM and "make money online" are where a large majority of newbies start and it's just a feeding frenzy of newbies trying to sell other newbies the latest marketing secrets, when they don't yet even know how to market themselves. So if you are a newbie then proceed with caution. I think it's better to research and find a good niche or a sub-niche that isn't too competitive for starters. It's important for newbies to be able to see some success early on or a large percentage will just give up and quit. If you are mid level or a pro then you know how to weigh the competition and evaluate a potential market and maybe have what it takes to compete in the IM space. My 2 cents. |

Many people much better and more advanced than me have said it all over: It's a business like ANY other! It used to be the wild west but the dust has settled already. Treat it like a business and it will treat you like an entrepreneur. My 2 cents as well |

I agree with 5 star above. I would not endorse a family member going into the "how to make money on the net" market. Other lucrative markets are much easier to penetrate with authority. TL |

| I don't think it is. I don't see any difference between IM business or any other business. You have to also remember that most IM business is Google dependent and Google only has 10 stops (by default) on the first page of searches. It is a lot easier to compete locally then online

Internet marketing is probably the only industry where many people make money by "teaching" how to succeed in the industry....but then again is anyone really teaching what they are actually doing to make money? When it comes to most IM, I think you learn more by observing how people market their courses than by actually following what they are teaching. Robyn |
