I just ruined my facebook reputation by blasting out an email that was crude and horribly boring. I have always put people to sleep with my writing and never gain any attention. Not positive attention, anyways.
Got a bunch of bad responses about how what I said was confusing and boring and left them wondering what was going on. Its like everything I write is a confusing lengthy suicide note. Alright, I'll shake it off now. |

I doubt it was that bad, you sound like your beating yourself up.
How do you know it was because it was boring? What was the more specific feedback?, what made it boring or confusing to them? You've always got to take the good with the bad and if you can learn a lesson from this and a springboard to help you improve then it wasn't all for nothing, even if you feel it might have been. I think you should practice your writing because it's a valuable skill to have but with that said, as was mentioned above, you can outsource this task to others if it's something you're not comfortable with. Chin up and keep going, learn from your experiences. Take the feedback and learn from it and be grateful for it, better than people going cold and you never knew why, at least this presents itself as an opportunity to learn from. |

As has been said here, may be you can post the article here for obtaining feedback and suggestions from other warriors and internet marketers. As long as the writing provides a factual knowledge transfer, everybody wouldnt mind reading through a badly written piece of prose.

I agree with Aaron Moser; build yourself up.
You are a very good writer who had a bit of an off-day ![]() It's no big deal. Tomorrow you'll be able to sit down, be a little more patient, and produce a great article. |

Okay...
I wrote a politically charged article that plugged my website (in sig) shamelessly. It was targetted to an audience that was not offended, but the response was horrible. There was one silver lining. A doctor emailed me back and said he was too busy to advertise at the moment but when things got slower he would contact me. So there was one mini victory in the whole thing but not even $10k would have made it worth it. Friends of mine were not offended but definitely not thrilled. |

You could always try hiring an
autoresponder copywriter, if you feel that you lack the confidence yourself. |

One of the major tricks of online marketing is to know what you are good at and what you are not so good at. Whilst it is true that the more articles you write, the better you will get, simply giving it another go in the belief that 'you're next article will be great' - like some people here have said - is very naive.
If you are not such a good writer, that's fine. You can easily hire professional freelancers at good rates on sites like elance.com. Believe me, it is far better that you are aware of your weakness, rather than blindly plodding on. John Burton |

Great Advice here!
Write more, and get feedback on your writing (oh, and incorporate it into your writing, one step at a time), and you'll get better really fast! Good luck. Elisabeth |

You got some good feedback - you wrote something bad and confusing.
So next time, make a quick outline of points you want to cover in your email or article - and then cover them one by one. It will organize your thoughts and improve your writing. kay |

What was your thread about? sorry I fell asleep!! lol
Couldn't resist that ![]() As you can see I also suffer from "Foot in Mouth" a chronic writers disease. lol Just double check everything you write and say to yourself "What if someone without a sense of humor reads it" Just do a double take before hitting send. |

Look, if you want to become a better writer, learn from the experience and keep plugging right along. If you decide that developing those skills isn't worth the time and effort you'll need to sink into the process, find a writer. Yesterday, I watched a guy install a new thermocouple and rewire the blower fan on my furnace. I could've learned how to do it myself but I recognize that I don't have great HVAC skills and that the time required for me to "coach myself up" wouldn't be worth going the "do it yourself" route. It's the same story. People hire me to write because I can do it better than they can and/or because they've decided that developing that skill set and spending the time necessary to produce the work aren't worth the return. Make that decision for your particular situation and move on accordingly. Additional hint: If you're writing anything you'd describe as "politically charged", you need to be pretty damn sure that your audience is on the same page with you and will be cheering you on with every sentence. Political copywriting is a minefield. | |

Great writing requires great preparation.
It's not just research either. You need things like a thesis, and an outline of what you're going to be writing about as well so you don't go off the reservation. Think back to how you prepared for the papers you wrote in high school and college, and do accordingly.
