Default Making an Ebay affiliate link for specific auction?

Hey Guys,

I'm trying to make an affiliate link I can send by email, that points to a specific auction I have running.

I'm getting a bit stuck and would welcome some advice.

I've logged into my Ebay Partner Network and clicked on Link Generator. I have also filled in the details using the Item ID of the auction and am getting the following code produced -

<a target="_blank" href="http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&pub=5574630851&toolid=10001&campid=53 36211143&customid=&icep_item=140351250102&ipn=psma in&icep_vectorid=229508&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg ">Two Way Radios</a><img style="text-decoration:none;border:0;padding:0;margin:0;" src="http://rover.ebay.com/roverimp/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?ff3=2&pub=5574630851&toolid=10001&campid=5336211 143&customid=&item=140351250102&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER]">

This seems produces two separate links - which I know can't be right for sending by email. The first link goes to the listing I want displayed, and contains my campaign ID, but I'm not sure what the second link is for?

Hope someone can advise?

Many thanks,

Myles

P.S. I've discovered if I copy between the quotes of the first link and include in an email, the link goes to the listing O.K. Is it really as simple as this? I'm guessing the second link is if I use the code on a web page and want to display link text?

What you are calling the Second Link is the link to the Tracking Image. It is not the link to the auction.

The Tracking Image tracks how often the link is displayed and is used to determine click-through-rate (CTR)

Thanks Kirk,

So is the code really meant for a webpage? If I include the whole thing in an email, two links are displayed, and I don't really want people clicking on the second link.

It's really an affiliate link suitable for an email I want to create.

Many thanks,

Myles
