Twitter Karma Time-Out Problem -- Got a Work-Around?

Hello Fellow Warriors,

I LOVE Twitter Karma, and it has been fantastically helpful with growing
my list of followers, but now, just when I need it most, it keeps failing me!

Whenever I try to run it -- even without avatars -- it times out.

Of course, it tells me to run it again and it will pick up where it left off.

That worked until I got to about 9000 followers (sometimes I had to do this
repeatedly), but now, it will never get beyond 90.4% or something.

I tried it on a couple of different computers (even went to Kinko's (uhm I mean Fedex)
one evening to try theirs) and the same thing happened.

And also, it does not appear to run on Explorer, so the one really fast computer I have access to won't work because it only has that browser and I don't have permission to add Firefox etc.

What gives?

Has anyone figured out a way around that?
Or is there another service that provides something similar?
Or do I just have to build a second (or third etc.) list?

Cleaning out the people who don't follow me back takes hours and hours if I do it by hand. Especially since they've changed their interface and I have to actually check if I can send them PMs in that little pull-down menu!

Hi WordWizard, I feel your pain. I've been looking for a solution as well and that's why I came across your post. I tried a paid solution a while back and I think they were just piggybacking off the free resources anyway because it was just as slow and slightly more reliable.

I cancelled my trial at any rate and am still looking for a way to handle my follows and unfollows. Good luck in your hunt.

Haha, I just noticed we follow each other on twitter, anyway we have about the same amount of followers and it took me all day 2 days ago to finally get 100% and guess what my computer shut down
So anyway I was going to give up so I tried it once again and it worked right back at the 100% it was at when I was shut down.
So I think you need to reload and reload until you finally hit that 100% mark, I've had to do that for a while now.

Thanks for your feedback and tips and sorry for the late response.

I didn't catch it when this thread suddenly went active again in December. I had pretty much given up.

Jeff, I'm using Firefox, but I haven't been able to get it to work with any other browser I have access to either.

Mya -- I'll try your method, and just be patient.

John, I'll check out buzzom.com. Is this software trustworthy? I'm always a bit paranoi when it wants access to my Twitter account, but I suppose it will need the access to do the job.

here's the update and a great big thank you!

I checked out buzzom.com and this site/app/whatever rocks.

I was able to clean up my follower list in no time. it works like a charm.
