Has anyone heard about this and what it is. My virus detector was picking it up on my computer Says I'm now clean, but I want to be doubly sure Thanks Kim |

That's the problem Jason I'm not sure where to look in the registry etc. (sigh) I'm told by my antivirus that its cleared, but I want to be 100% certain. I'm gutted I got this because I run 2 lots of antiviral software on my computer, I'm anal about security, I can't believe it got through Quote:

You're wise to be paranoid. I consider myself to be very well protected. I've done IT consulting for years and am well-versed on both protecting against these attacks and removing them. That said, over the last week I fought for 4 days to get rid of a trojan/rootkit on my system. I knew when it came in (HDD started running), but it still took me days to clean it. The scary thing is that on day 3, all of my "standard" scanners showed my system was clean. Fortunately my firewall kept popping up a warning, which told me that they'd missed something. Kim, Malwarebytes tends to do a pretty good job at thoroughly cleaning a system (if it can run on the infected system). For those who have a stubborn infection, their forum is a great place to look for specific help (be prepared to follow somewhat technical directions and post/report logs from various cleaners). |

I second Malwarebytes. I cleaned a really infected machine the other day with it that most of the standard cleaning tools had missed. Make sure you disable system restore before removing virus's if you use it and then make a clean starting point when disinfected if you turn it back on. Personally, I never use it and manually back up my own registry. |

I use an AV (Symantec), SUPER AntiSpyware, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and PC Plus Tools Firewall. A Virus screwed up my system last time and I lost all my data. No virus' ass is entering my system ever again! Sumit. |
