Hello Fellow Warriors, I just launched a new niche affiliate site with a blog, a couple of product pages and a free report that you have to opt-in with Aweber in order to receive. My niche doesn't have too much competition and only a few physical products that are available in the category, but it is something that affects nearly everyone and the product could be used by nearly anyone. So far according to Google Analytics I have had 190 unique visitors in the first 48 hours since launching. I am working on building the traffic now so I think this is decent considering how long it has been online. This is my first affiliate site. I see a lot of click throughs to my product pages and free report offer, none to my blog that has 5 good articles on it and some clicks from the product pages to the affiliate pages but no sales. I'm not really expecting that I would have converted sales yet ![]() My sales page (Free Report) has only been seen by 12 visitors that have provided their email address and only 6 have opted in. Preliminary questions/concerns: -Is it too soon to look into any of this data? Should I revisit this after a few weeks of traffic building activities? -Am I jeopardizing sales by keeping my "Free Report" (sales page) only visibile after opting in thus preventing almost all site traffic from actually seeing it? Should I make that my landing page and have the opt-in list be secondary elsewhere on the site? Is the building a list that important? I think this could be effecting conversions. -Is 6 sign-ups for the mailing list good out of 190 visitors, 97 of which viewed the page leading to the opt-in promising the free report? I had 12 provide their email addresses, but only half that provided it took the second step and clicked the confirmation email from Aweber to actually get my free report (sales page) Just trying to bounce my thoughts off the talented people here. Appreciate any feedback! |

You've gotten as many visitors as I have gotten in the past 6 days. Let it run for at least a week and work from there.

Well, the optin success all depends. If you're selling a $2000 product, 6 out of 200 ain't bad. But if it's $20, you're gonna have some problems making mass profits. Like they said above, I'd wait a week. Once you have that, start your split testing. See what works and what doesn't. It all depends on your traffic type and your content as to 'what will work'. Split testing will work more miracles than opinions of other marketers. Not to say that those opinions can't be of help. =) Good luck! Keep us posted! |

I am having a very hard time visualizing what you are talking about and how exactly the site is set-up. If you would like to PM me (with your URL), I'll be glad to take some time and give you my opinion.

190 visitors in 2 days for a brand new site is not bad. I think it shows promise that you have a good market. You should wait a few more days, see if your double opt in starts converting better than 50%. If not, try tweaking it to give clearer instructions that will guide them through the confirmation process. If you continue to build more and more traffic that isn't signing up, take another look at the freebie. Is it compelling enough for them to trust you with their email? |

Thanks for the feedback. Since this is my first project I don't really have a benchmark to compare it too. Good to hear that I am on the right track. Plugging away today at driving traffic. |
