Default Car Types in the USA - Am I Missing Any Out?

Simple question for you car
enthusiasts in the USA.

I'm trying to come up with a
list of the most popular car
types in the USA, so far I've
got...

Convertible
Coupe
Hatchback
Minivan - Van
Pickup Truck
Sedan
Sports
SUV

Am I missing anything out?

I know that there must be a
few more popular car categories.

For example what do you call
4x4's over there or 4 wheel drive
cars / vehicles?

Could you help me out please and
add to the list of the most popular
car categories? (only you call
everything over there by such
different names)

Much appreciation in advance for
your help.

Excellent!

You star you.

Thank you. I really appreciate that.

Trying to get decent U.S. sites up

is a right pain in the neck - that
provides the exact solution I was
looking for.

Thanks again.

Hello,
you left out the compact category, that would be a small type of car.
We call a 4x4 a sport utility vehicle or suv.
Many people call them a Jeep type of vehicle.
There is also a Hybrid type of vehicle,
part electric and part gas.

As someone who owns two of them, and has owned at least one at all times for 20+ years, we call them 4x4s. Lou commented that we call them SUVs, however that is inaccurate as not all SUVs are four wheel drive.

I just ran it through Micro Niche Finder, and 4x4 gets far more searches than 4WD or four wheel drive.

I have websites in the Street Rod and Hot Rod niches as well as being the owner of such cars.

That's a huge market.

*sigh*

My post was just a friendly reminder to keep things on topic. The main forum is for "Where We Talk About Making Money."

We're all moderators and I was just doing my bit in an affable manner. Hence the .

However, if you'd prefer me to be overtly didactic in response to your attempt at pushing the above definition to a wild and imaginary extreme then so be it:

1. I fail to see how posting a thread in the "Where We Talk About Making Money" forum in order to save yourself time (and take up that of others') to build your list is of any value to anybody but yourself.

2. I fail to see how it fits in with the spirit of contributing to this forum by helping its members further their knowledge of marketing with a view to making money online or anywhere else.

3. Having read the words that you used to make the original post, I also fail to recognise *any* that either contain or pertain to any facet of marketing either known to the rest of us or buzzing around your head.

Might I also suggest that, if you're struggling to find the appropriate diction to effectively communicate your thoughts, you spend an extended period of time in the copywriting forum where you'll find a great bunch of professionals that can teach you how.

This would be a commendable course of action for an aspiring copywriter...

Thanks Will but I think I'm ok now, I've
got all of the information that I need
thanks to all of the posters who were
kind enough to reply above.

**********

Of course, if a mod wishes to move this
thread to the Off-Topic Forum, please
be my guest. Personally I didn't think it
was a huge issue.

I could have gone into some longwinded
explanation on why I needed the
information - it's just that if I had had
done so, it wouldn't actually have helped
to solve the question so therefore was of
no relevance.

I did think about it though.

Apologies if I upset anyone inadvertently,
although you have to be a bit 'daft' in my
considered opinion, to get so upset about
the issue that you have to post such a
long reply on the thread about it as above.

What's the big deal?

The thread of course can be deleted now,
if needs be, that's perfectly cool with me.

Actually, I asked you (amongst others) for samples of your work because I had some low level DM work and on your website you "claim" to have DM experience. As many know I frequently give work to Warriors from my companies when I can.

However, you declined to provide me with any samples and instead directed another much more capable writer to contact me in your place.

The reference to $50 was when I said something along the lines of;

"if you're the kind of writer that writes IM web content for $50 a pop this work is not for you. It's at full ad agency rates"

I don't sell anything online - never have, never will - as everyone here knows. Consequently, I have no need for sales copy.

I think it's in your best interests for me to stop there and not discuss the matter further.

Tom

P.S. Like I said, it was originally a friendly reminder. Maybe I read your response, framed it wrongly and over reacted, but you reap what you sow Mark, Ron or whatever your name is...

If you are like others, who will be like you?
