Pop ups under browser window

Hello everyone,

I don't know where I'm picking up this adware or spyware or whatever it is but somewhere yesterday that I went loaded me up with adds.

When I shut down FireFox I had about 15 Popup windows with adds that were running in the background, I'm running Avast now to see if it finds them.

Anybody have a free program that they trust that will stop this. I've seen free stuff in the past but I think some of it is just as bad as what you are trying to get rid of.

Try these:

Windows Defender
Spybot S&D

If neither of those work, then you get to move on to:

HijackThis (This program will required qualified help to use, but it can identify the problem quickly)

ComboFix (Awesome program, slaps malicious programs around and calls 'em sally, but make sure you read ALL of the instructions before you run it)

Superantispyware is also excellent, fixed some problems for me that none of the others could

I would also HIGHLY suggest you pick up avast! - Download antivirus software for spyware and virus protection anti-virus. The free version is excellent. I've found it to be the best free or paid anti virus program I have ever used.
