I have a report I give to my members when they opt in to my newsletter. I Googled it today out of sheer boredom and was surprised to see it pop up in a bunch of torrent files. I then dig a little deeper and found it being sold on eBay for $1.50, odd I thought. It was a .pdf... ...do you think they changed the content before they decided to sell it. It did have an affiliate link in it! |

I know that eBay used to have some very strict rules about this. I am not up on how they work nowadays. But, unless you buy it and verify it is yours, I am not sure what you can do about it. You can obviously make the complaint to eBay and they may stop the seller while they investigate.

I found one of my books being sold on Paydotcom, they had even copied the sales page and just changed the domain name by 1 letter, and it was on a special 1 day offer at a site that used to do a different offer every day. You would not believe the hassle I had getting PDC to stop it being sold. The worst were paypal they refused to do anything. | |

Hi. You report copyright infringement via the ebay VERO program. It's a hassle to get started, but it's worth it. I used to work for a big name person, and his stuff was copied and sold on ebay all the time. After a month or two of reporting people, they finally got the hint and didn't try to sell the stuff anymore. It was a great feeling. It won't let me post the link, but maybe you can pm me for it. Otherwise, just Google "ebay VERO program." Once you have it set up and have the form in your email, you should be able to pull up a used one and just change the information of the people you are going after. So go to that link and follow directions. |
| Take a short survey. No sales pitch.

eBay is responsive. Document the theft, who is involved, then send the paperwork to eBay's counsel. They will most likely cancel the account of the person involved.

I agree with monitorit. I would at least buy it and see if your links are in there. If so, this is very good viral Marketing for you. Or just flag the item on ebay. |

IM really is the Wild West. You can fight these things, but the entire internet is the thief's domain and they could be selling your stuff in a lot of places. You have to pick your battles. If it was my main product I'd fight it, but for a report I'd just move on and keep producing new material. You see the same thing on Donkey Pricks forum. You can write an awesome free thread here, and some guy will take it and sell it as an ebook over there. |
