Default FTC and Article Marketing

I found out recently that the FTC had made changes to their guidelines regarding affiliate marketers. What they want us to do now is disclose that if they click on our link and buy something that we will make a little money. And I don't really have a problem with that. But if I wanted to link to my merchant's site through a redirect domain that I own, how would that fit within the guidelines? I don't want to say "Help me make some money, click here!" in the bio box. Any suggestions would be great.

Mike

PS. First post.

I have gotten news from the changes from several people that I am on the mailing lists for. Here is the link to Frank Kern's blog post about it. (Not trying to promote Frank's stuff, that's just the first place I remembered to look.)

You have to copy and paste. I can't post links yet, apparently.

I suggest you use "search" in the red toolbar - go to "advanced search" and enter the words

federal trade

in the keyword box
(searching for FTC is too short for search function)

There are multiple threads on this forum that may help you understand what's up.

I honestly wasn't wanting to start a whole multipage thread talking about the changes. Just had a very specific question regarding one aspect of it. I did use the search feature (as I am not a noob to user forums, just this one) and found many discussions on the changes, but no answer to my question yet. Will keep looking though in the meantime.
Thanks again

There may not be an answer yet - this is a new ruling and we don't know what will be affected. But the FTC has said several times it will be starting with advertisers, not with affiliates.

If that is what happens, the product sellers will make changes in their requirements and affiliates will follow the rules.
