I absolutely love the Google free tools. Gmail, GoogleDocs, Shared Calendar, Notifier, and the list goes on. These tools really increase efficiency!

Also, I want to add that I really enjoy using FileZilla for my FTP client. I've never had an issue with it and it's totally free to download. Here's the link to download FileZilla if you feel so inclined

Clicktale

You can have access to a free service. You put a javascript code at the beginning of a webpage and one snippet at the end.

They record every scroll, mouse click and mouse movements of a user on your webpage.

They show you the result of the browsing of the user on video. You have access to heat map, scroll map etc. Cool Stuff!

Pretty useful on a sales letter

What a great thread.

My favourite tool is Irfan View IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide Great few quick viewing pictures and changing their formats. Had this one for years, and always updated.

Paint.net is great for pictures also http://www.paint.net/.

VideoLan is great for viewing all video formats, great when downloading videos to watch VLC media player - Open Source Multimedia Framework and Player

And then there is Winamp. Winamp Media Player - MP3, Video, and Music Player - Winamp No matter where I am music goes with me. Simple and easy to use.

PSPad - the best free html editor (not wysiwyg!) - works with other languages, too!

In the first half of the year we are supposed to work for the taxman. I think that's a mistake.
Help me to get rid of the taxman ASAP - thanks! (You, too, should make less mistakes!)

My favorite free tool has to be Open Office.

I use it to edit and re-write private label rights
source files. You can easily turn these source
files into your own e-books.

It's an awesome tool if you buy and sell plr
e-books.

Yahoo! email. No limit on amount of messages that you can store.

Microsoft Office Live, to keep and share all kinds of documents

Foxmarks, to keep all of my bookmarks in one place, regardless of which computer I may be using, I can get to all of my stuff from one location. It also has a spot for notes so you can jot down user names and passwords for each site.

You are welcome, and I am glad you didn't waste your money. As you can see there are many free tools out there, and I think most of them are a lot better than the ones you have to pay for.
And thank to all of you who took the time to let all of us know what free tool(s) you use. As many other warrior have said, there are also many tools that I have never even heard of, so its very helpful for all of us, since each of us use a different tool and not all of us know about the free tools that others use. Thank you all.

I would have to say ...... I can't pick just one! But for anything Internet Marketing related I'd have to say:

GIMP: A program like Photoshop but free.

Filezilla: Free FTP

Blinkweb and NVU: Build a website free with WYSIWYG.

...these of course are only starters because there are so many great, FREE tools online these days. Best of luck with your continued search

Some tools I can't live without are Firefox add-ons. SearchStatus, great tool to quickly check backlinks, keyword density, etc.. Firebug to inspect CSS code of any template you are using. Fireshot to quickly take snapshots of sites I want to sell. Visual Studio 2008 Express to create simple html pages. And of course my favorite of them all, Drupal.
