Best e-mail I have received in a long time.

Today I got one of the best e-mails I have received in a long time. I have been helping my Dad get his Internet business going because he just retired and today was his first big sale of an affiliate product! Here is the e-mail.

Nothing makes me more excited than to see that my Dad is starting to see results. It has been a fun and interesting experience so far. You know I am learning a ton by helping him because I now understand what new people are going through.

For example today he honestly thought when he was social bookmarking that he was also submitting an article like to article directories as well. He thought that using OnlyWire to submit the article on your site was submitting articles to article directories. There have been many other things also that I sit back and think wow, it is hard to be a newbie.

I can't believe how many times I tell people that are new to "just" do this and "just" do that. So this experience has taught me to be more careful about saying that without further explaining things further so everyone understands.

Anyways, it was an exciting day to see this happen for him and I wanted to share this with you all!

I've been helping my mother create Squidoo lenses and web pages. I have to resist taking over the keyboard and remind myself that it wasn't too long ago when this stuff had me completely stumped too so I'm over the moon when I see her taking the lead and creating her own lenses independently.

Your dad must be on cloud 9 to experience the proof of online marketing himself. Great stuff.

Awesome idea. Thanks! I have thought of this because of how much I am learning as the person training him because I am learning about what phrases I use as common words that newbies get stuck on completely and just want to give up.

He loves giving me input and ideas so this would be a great product! Thanks again for the suggestion!

Oh no, if he comes here he'll get caught in the curse of the WF. The one where you spend hours browsing the forums and get no work done. If you love your dad you won't bring him here! Okay that's a little over the top, but I hate this curse

It can be hard because you do just want to take over the keyboard and do it for them, but at the end of the day if you are patient you find that they learn best doing it on their own! He has actually been learning most of it through watching some of my training videos and then he gets on the phone with me to make sure he is doing it correctly.

Yeah, he was on cloud 9 and I think he still is! It was getting discouraging for him to not see results, but you know when this sale came in he quickly wrote another article to get out there, and he was really excited when I told him the sky was the limit.

All he has done is register a domain, install Wordpress, write 3 blog posts, and bookmark the site. He didn't submit to article directories, do press releases, videos, directory links, etc. to get traffic flowing. So this is exciting, and I think realizes a lot of exciting potential now!

LOL! I will make sure to educate him on how not to get too caught up on here because I know how you can leave here with so many new ideas that it is hard to cash in on all of them!
