What is the biggest problem with Free Traffic?

I am busy researching for a new product and was wondering what the biggest problems with free traffic are?

Obviously not everyone is using free traffic generation techiniques. Why is this? I can give a few examples, but I want to hear the warrior members' opinions.

Free traffic is everyone biggest target but hardly achieved without hard work and more than 80 % peoples out there is LAZY to take action for bringing free traffic to their site

If you value your time more than your money, free traffic is more expensive than paid traffic. The greatest problem with free traffic is that it not only takes a lot of time invested each day, but it also takes time to build up. The only exception, in my opinion, is viral traffic, since it only takes the time to create the viral content and then it works for itself.

I agree that the time factor is a problem, and the fact that most of it could be a waste
of your valuable time due to its "untargeted" nature

I don't see any problem with free traffic.

Ex: If I give away a free report on my niche, the person coming from the link inside the report is a potential prospect. He will not come under general traffic. Same like your PPC visitor.

The methods you use to generate free traffic should be focused on your niche as tight as possible.

Free traffic is a NON-EXISTENT SPECIES...

What doesn't cost money costs time.

Do not fool yourself into believing in free traffic.

Yes, leverage and viral campaigns are definitely possible. But that's still not free. Just cheap and fast.
