I assume you mean a computer screen ...

Click the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard
Open an image editor and paste there - if you don't have one, use Paint
Save the image to your preferred image format - Jpeg, giff, tiff, png.

    If you have a Mac:

    Shift+Command+3 = screenshot

Shift+Command+4 = crosshair to select user defined area.

Shift+Command+4 ... then hit the spacebar, then click the mouse = camera icon appears. Move it over any icon, window or image to take a screenshot and then click.

Image should appear on your desktop and you can either edit with Photoshop or paste it directly into a word doc or upload directly to your web site.

    Hope this helps.

We've had a Windows explanation, and now a Mac one. Here's a Linux one

    * Hit Print Screen on your keyword ("Prnt Scrn")

    * Select "Save" on the options that appear. Save it to wherever you want.

    * If needed, upload it to your site (via cPanel's file manager or FTP), or via a free image hosting site

One addendum...Many laptops have the "Prtsc" button tied to the "FN" function key. You will need to hit this like a shift key to activate the print screen function.

Gimp is a great open source and free graphics program if you don't have one to paste you screen shots into...

can't post a link but it lives at gimp dot org..
