Hi all, I'm about to try and release an online app that makes revenue off of monthly fees for paying accounts. That is to say that someone signs up for an account and pays a fee every month to continue using it. Anyway I wanted to see what affiliates have to say about ShareASale in general and also specifically about my product and whether something like it would get much promotion. I see that most merchants have one time products and offer a certain percentage of the sale value, whereas mine is based off of the monthly fees. Would that still be attractive to affiliates? What percentage would be reasonable? I'm very open as to what the payout is. I have three plans, $9.99/mo, 14.99/month, and 29.99/month where the 14.99 and 29.99 would probably get the bulk of the signups. Has anyone ever promoted a monthly service? If so, can you give me some numbers (payouts, conversion %, etc)? |

Shareasale is one network that I seldom, if ever, hear any affiliates complain about and they all seem to like it. The folks over at SAS are very responsive to both affiliate's and merchant's needs. Sorry I don't really work with membership programs, so don't have any feedback for you about that part or your question. |

hi how much you pay out will depend on : 1. what you can afford to spend on marketing. 2. the ease of conversion - the more work, the more motivation needed. 3. customer retention - which will only be proven over time (the longer the customer stays, the more the affiliate stands to earn) i have seen some going around 25 to 30 % - but i cannot speak for the customer retention on those just my 0.02c |

Thanks! Glad to hear that shareasale has a positive reputation. I'm definitely considering them. grumpyjacksa you said that you have seen 25-30%. Is that a 1 time payment or continuous payments that occur as long as the customer stays? |
