Default Newsletter Vs. Blog Updates

I want to build a product and I am planning to give free material that will attract potentially buyers, and I want them to subscribe to free 6 step course for how to... and updates

my questions are:

1) is it ok to send subscribers that have been sign up for free course news about my product? how does it work? what is your best suggestion for it?

2) what about blog updates? how can I combine newsletter & blog?

Thanks,

Adi

List building is so important. Newsletter is better than blog in my opinion. if you build targeted list, you can send them follow ups on the product, as well as have higher conversions once your product is live, however, you can write content on your blog and send your subscribers there.

I would say the best option is actually using both, as a blog will give you regular and new visitors.

Some will sign up the newsletter, making a bigger list.

But be wary of giving free materials. Make sure that they are really getting something that is valuable not just some material that can be found on some free sites on the internet. Giving freebies is actually a double edged sword and could hurt your sales if done incorrectly. Good luck.

as for no 2....

you can use the content from your newsletter on your blog....

kikabink news does it (anna johnson - fellow warrior)....

that way, your subscribers can "comment on your newsletter"....

by going to the blog.

the newsletter does not get indexed.....

so you can recycle the content.

hope this helps

pj

Sig removed due to a lack of interest.....and since I'm not into selling shovels, it's of no consequence.
