Breaking Down Videos Down for Membership Income

Hey Guys

I have absolutely no experience with membership websites, and if possible I would like some warrior advice on my current situation and the best way to break my content down to provide content every month!

Im looking to sell my front end report for $4.97, and give them a free trial for 7 days for my membership training videos, and charge $37 a month after the 7 days.

I have a set of 30 training videos, would this be the best way to break this down and provide it to the subscribers?

I was thinking about setting up individual download links such as:

month1-23432jd.php
month2-ferferf42.php
month3-4rf43fcsd.php
month4-f34fr3g3k.php

Every month I would then provide the download links by aweber autoresponder after they sign up (this could be good as it's download links would be sent automatically) and I wouldnt have to worry about adding/finding new content every month to add to a member site.

Does this sound like a good option? Anyone have any experience with this and could offer some advice?

How many videos would you provide every month? Each video is about 10 mins long.

Thanks

Simon

    HI Simon,

Started my first membership site a couple weeks ago and did it this way:

Instantmember script < no affiliation, just a happy customer > with 10-12 videos ready to view at day zero PLUS:

    Day 10 - secret bonus
    Day 15 - secret bonus
    Day 30 - secret bonus
    Day 45 - secret bonus
    Day 50 - secret bonus
    Day 60 - secret bonus
    etc etc

Finally Day 90 > upsell to advanced techniques (haven't decided prices and membership timelines) but this is where i am going to hit hard both on price and "secret" information for those that follow everything for "90" days.

You can drip one video per day but beware people will want more from you, so better grab some bonuses to display along the way.

If you need anything, let me know. Glad to help!

P.S.: I will say go to InstantMember cause it's damn easy to work with, protects everything (and i mean everything, even blocks password sharing etc etc) and it's damn perfect for membership sites using the drip content feature + top notch security + easy to deal with + fast support.

    Hey Fernando

Sounds great, but how did you inform the customer that their new content was waiting for them? Did you use an autoresponder?

    Thanks

No Simon, i have a Course Map available at sales page (benefits, benefits!!) and inside the members area.

I use the built in email to remind them.

But we can insert them in a private autoresponder series automatically when they buy the course (script integration with Aweber) and create follow ups (day 10, day 15, etc etc) to remind them of new content in members area (personally I skipped this one but will use it in the next IM course).

You can set this up as a micro-continuity site.

Wordpress blog can hold the videos and content which will drip out as time goes on.

Ar sign-up - you can do this on the inside - so when the person gets into the initial video, it can say "sign up for your reminders on the next video release"

You can time it so when they sign up, you can coordinate the next video to drop in 7 days (or what ever) and the next ar will go to them in 7 days as well as a reminder with "Come see your new videos".

If for some reason they decide to cancel the membership, it will still send the AR (which they can opt out of), but the website will not allow them to access the content.

There is a plugin in the WSOs that you might be interested in (ridiculous low price) that does the whole set up and allows different membership levels as well.

You can offer the videos on a player inside, and as a download. For the player on the inside you can try something like JW player.

If you do this as a micro site, you can choose how long to sell for and you won't feel pressured to keep putting out more and more.

If they get to the end of your series, they are on that list still, and you can promote the next great thing.

    Just a headsup:

I did try one WP membership plugin but it did not protect the video folder. It protects the posts and keeps non-payers outside BUT it does not protect folders inside WP install.

That's why I've decided for the other script i talked above ^^. It even protects the URL's like this "http://yoursite dot com/dhfds786dsyvgsd764eg" and when you check the code of the pages there is nothing there to see.

For textual content maybe that's ok, but with videos it's a pain cause people can share the (visible) URL with non-payers.

Edit: Don't know if you guys can understand this. hope so.
