Hey Guys I will soon be doing a product launch, with a front end report selling at $4.77, they get an automatic 7 day trial of my membership content. The membership is a series of step by step videos, 10 mins long each that I will drip to the subscribers every week (2 vids per week, 8 vids per month)... However I have absolutely no idea what I should be charging for the monthly content. I have been thinking about charging: $19.97 $37.00 $47.00 Anyone have any experience with price points, that prevents alot of people dropping out of? Thanks Simon |

I didn't create a membership site yet, but I could make some considerations from the customer's point of view... In order to charge $37 or even $47 a month, your content must be really valuable. Outstanding. At least in my opinion. Since I don't know the content of your videos, I cannot judge them. But with 8 vids a month, 10 minutes each, I think $19.95 is enough... unless your content is really unique and remarkable (something that your subscribers cannot receive elsewhere, period). My two cents. |

Are there similar sites doing the same in your market place? What do people in that market normally pay? / What are they paying for similar? / what do they expect to pay? What makes your site, videos and content better then anything else out there? If you don't know any of the above then you'll need to "test" the price! And see what works best for you. |

Try to estimate the value of your product. How much money will your customers make if they use your product? How much time (work hours per week) will they save? Does your product increase their income by a "fixed" amount? (e.g. they will make something around $500 bucks a month if they follow your path...) Or does your product increase their income by a percentage? (e.g. 20% more traffic, double the conversion rates, etc.) If so, then there is no upper limit to your product price. Just target those people who already make a lot of money and help them make even more money... Marc |

thanks guys, some good food for thought. My product is in the IM niche, i've seen some sites charging well over $47 for IM videos. I have 30 videos at 10 mins each covering topics from blog marketing to article marketing, just trying to think of the best way to break them down! Simon |

To me, when I am paying $37 or $47 for a content membership (meaning membership that sells tips or guides or vids), I expect real good content in there. It also makes me think many times, to continue or cancel, few days before it renews. Anything above $47, I am thinking there must be some tool or scripts or software in the membership to worth the money. If it is less than $17, I won't have a headache, especially if it provides some nice content, or merely a forum with lots of secret sharing. You might as well charge $27, and then additional $37/mth for people to join as your affiliate team, where they can promote and earn 90% of the sales. Your main customer here is the affiliates now, and you have to provide them with constant tools and content to make more money, which seems to be the purpose of your vids. Daniel |

I've got one that charges $39.99 per month, one that goes for $49.99 per month, one that goes for $149.99 per month and one for $199.99 per month. The higher you go the shorter the members stay will be. UNLESS you can wow them with information they cannot get anywhere else. The best advice is this: Charge whatever people are willing to pay. AND it's far easier to LOWER a price then to raise it. |
