Is anyone else tired of the "End of Internet marketing" type of emails?

I have to say this since I am almost fed up with this crap.

I am subscribed to over 50 lists so I can see what the competition is doing and stuff like that...now...I don't know how many people noticed this but I seem to be getting alot of "internet marketing to become illegal?", "is internet marketing almost dead?", "is affiliate marketing over?", and more that I am too tired to write at this moment.

And I know for SURE that this isn't anything more then a marketing tactic...because at the end of everyone of those emails there is a product that will save your business and your life from the upcoming "collapse of internet marketing as we know it"...

For those that have experience in the field this will mean nothing...because we know our businesses and we know the market (at least we should)...but for new guys this can be very bad news that can shatter hopes and will just make them spend more money when they don't need to.

I agree that maybe its not as easy as it used to be, that some stuff is not the same, that you need to pay attention to trends and stuff...but come on...is FAR FAR from the crap above.

This to me is just shady marketing...and makes me question the knowledge of that marketer.

Anyone else in the same bucket as me?

I unsubscribed from all my IM lists early this year, so I don't know this. Is it the recent FTC rulings that's bringing out these emails?

Fear is always a great motivating factor, so I can't blame them. I remember the tons of pitch emails about recession-this, recession-that, around last year.

I guess what I'm tired of is marketers complaining about marketing tactics.

You have no idea how successful or unsuccessful these campaigns are.

This is no different from the people who bitch about being sick of:

      Long Sales Copy
      Continuity Programs
      OTOs
      Upsells
      Scarcity
      Time Sensitive Offers
      Sensational Email Subject Lines

And I could go on and on but I won't bother.

How about this. Instead of bitching about everything we don't like about
marketing, we observe what's going on, maybe even test a few things out
for ourselves and see how effective they are.

      As long as we are:

      Not breaking the law
      Not doing anything unethical

      What is the harm?

More importantly, how about just concentrating on your own business?

I mean after all, don't we have enough to worry about as far as keeping
ourselves profitable without complaining about every little thing we don't
      like?

      Me?

I prefer to concentrate on my business and do what I can do to get the
      most out of it.
