Do you often Buy new Wordpress Themes ?

Hi guys,

I am interested to know if anyone buys wordpress themes regularly?
I am addicted to wordpress and I spent around $300-400 each month for wordpress themes, nd the best thing is I dont use them. Maybe test and thats it.

Do I have problem in my head ? or this is normal ?

It's not normal for it to be WordPress themes, but it's definitely normal for it to be SOMETHING.

Me, I buy deck after deck of playing cards. I've paid as much as $250 for a deck of cards, just because I have to have this very specific deck design. I buy decks from all the major casinos, all the major designers, all the major magic shoppes. And yes, I am something of an amateur magician, but honestly... the cards aren't THAT different. I have them just to have them. It doesn't make my life any better to have a dozen decks of Black Tigers or Split Spades. They won't make me any money. They won't get me anything at all. It's just a personal obsession with no real purpose.

So as long as you aren't in dire financial circumstances because of your theme habit, I'd say it's just fine.

What theme was that . I might buy it - if I dont already have it...

I've only ever bought one, the Revolution theme. It didn't work out for me so I've never bought another. I would rather take a cool free one and modify it to my own specifications. I find that more fun than buying the ready made.
To be honest Revolution themes are one of the best out their. Very easy to customize.

      LOL

I also spent some money in wp themes until I visit artisteer site and build my own themes now.

Artisteer themes are not so pro like other themes but you can make very nice and unique themes if you spend more time customizing them.

      Hv a nice day,

Are you at least making sites with those themes and marketing them? If you are then I dont see why is there a problem. If you are not, yes you need to quit the habit, fast! and invest in what matters.

I never buy themes - I design all of my own in Atahualpa.
(of course, instead of buying a theme you could buy my wso )

I've never bought a theme... I always use free ones.

I received a free one one time as a reward to opting into someone's list... I figured I'd end up buying the themes that he pitched me on but I was able to use the free one to accomplish exactly what I wanted to do with it... I had to modify the **** out of it to make it work - but I digress.

I think you may have a problem! Spending money on wordpress themes is a waste of time unless you use them, however you are perfectly entitled to spend your money how you see fit. Instead why not stick with a theme for 6 months before changing again

I always use free themes too. Actually, I take that back. I once bought a WSO with WP Sales letter themes.

I guess it is good to have a range of themes in your toolkit but not if you are not using them or do not have a plan to use them.

I do not know a lot about you or how you run your business, but, if you have money to spare, them maybe you can outsource more and grow your business.

Then again if you are at a place that you are happy with your business, then buy all the themes that you want!

Like rosetrees, I write my own WordPress themes but my biggest purchasing addiction is probably for productivity software - if it can shave even a zilisecond off of the time it takes me to do the things I do then I'm interested. I do actually use the stuff I buy though.

My only real pointless purchasing obsession is for cosmetics, where I'll repeatedly buy the same shades - smokey grey eyeshadow and blood red nail polish - despite knowing I've already got shedloads at home. I do actually use this stuff too, all the time, but I've still got enough of it to make up every woman in the street for the next decade. Will knowing this stop me buying any more? Unlikely

I bought thesis, then found that atahualpa may be just as good (SEO wise anyway).

I did make the donation to atahualpa to get support... so you *could* say I bought it.

interesting thread, will be checking out the themes some of the respondents of this thread mentioned.

and I'm with Instructor's reply: might be time for WP Anonymous!

I mean why buy them if you don't use them?
(now I gotta re-evaluate the stuff I bought and haven't used yet, reaching for a rag to wipe the egg off my face)

Have the whole StudioPress package, but have had 'issues' with some of the recommended coders, so just do it myself now (I was just trying to save some time).

I go to the Thesis web site at least every week but haven't pulled the trigger yet, but it does look sweet and my favorite 'gurus' all use it.

I would guess with the right plug-ins properly configured, there is little other advantage to buying one other than looks. You could get addicted to free themes and save a bunch, Lol.

I dont use WP, but with these themes, can you re-sell them? maybe make a site where you sell these themes at a very low price....

or customized them a bit and re-sell or offer them for free with your links slapped at the bottom...

Bottom line, you shouldnt be spending that much on themes if your not even going to be using them. Cheers

I've bought lots, but only what I need and use. I'm a site flipper so I have a developer's license for quite a few premium themes ... but it's not just a pretty collection.
