Default Why Is It So Hard To Make Sales Online?

Lots of people have this issue. The problem is not that people
aren't buying. In fact it’s something very different.

You see, you have to know your market before you can ever attempt
to offer something for sale.

Have you ever heard the term people hat to be sold but love to
buy...

It's very true...

You can't take a prospect that does not know you and force them
to buy your product.

It doesn't work like that, relationships don't work like that.

You have to give in order to receive. Think about it when you
meet someone that you would like date, you give your all, at least until
you get married right?

Well business is no different you have to wine and dine you prospects
and then and only then will they be happy to return the favor by giving
you their money.

Good luck,

I'm still waiting to be "wined and dined" by WalMart, McDonalds and many other companies but I'm not holding my breath. However, I do keep buying from them even though they don't trouble themselves with "building a relationship".

Most ppl make the mistake of writing thier presells content without concidering the commercial intent of the demographic that they are targeting.

Shoot...I've noticed that most ppl aren't even concidering the target demographics when they advertise.(ppc) Most go about it as if everybody wants what you have to offer them.

Whether you believe it or not Wal-Mart and McDonalds spend millions a year building relationships with their customers. Just look at their ad campaigns.

However that is not what I meant, direct sales is different beast all together. What I am saying is don't just ask the customer to buy from you because you have something to sell.

Give them a great product in advance, earn their trust and then you will be able to sell them something. Bye the way doing it this way is a lot more effective than just asking for a sale, because the prospect lowers his or her guard and is open to your sales efforts.

I don't know about the wine and dine, but, in lieu of a relationship, buyers look for some sort of social proof that the product is safe. McDonalds, etc. has it from the fact that some courageous souls tried them and didn't walk out and start pee-yooking their guts out. So Mickie-Ds must be OK, even without a 90-day money back guarantee.

But yes, I believe you gotta give something first. With regards to info-products, free, useful, quality information tends to raise my trust.

You're confusing branding with relationship building. By and large the 'relationship' they build is a negative one. Most people hate to step foot in a WalMart because of poor service or eat an overcooked McDonald's hamburger on a stale bun but they'll do it anyway because it's convenient and cheap.

If you're selling a luxury consumer product or high priced business-to-business products/services then there may be some benefit to building relationships. If you're selling a commodity, you want to be the low price leader.

Well before you develop a product and make sales, you have to know what the customers are looking for, know their frustrations and offer them solutions to their various problems by developing the product. This will make your customers to part with their money.
