Default Extremely High Bounce Rate - Does It Matter?

So according to google analytics... my landing page has an incredibly high bounce rate. At first I freaked out... then I realized... wait a minute, I've gotten almost a 50% CTR today.

So it got me thinking... maybe bounce rate isn't so bad because I'm assuming hopping away through an affiliate link counts as a "bounce" away from your page.

What it DOES mean is that of the 3 pages in my site, about 80% of visitors are viewing the main page before moving on. This gives me less time to pre-sell them and perhaps those hops aren't as hyped about the product yet?

I don't really know what to make of this, or if it's even a big deal that only some people go through the rest of my site. I supposed I'll just have to see if these hops start resulting in sales or not... Lots of people succeed with simple, 1 page squeezes then 1 page landers, so maybe I don't need to worry if no one is reading my big story.

Thoughts? Comments?

Yes but you said "my landing page" which means there
is not much content to read? If so, a very low BR is where
it would be. Getting a 50% ctr is something to be proud of.

When analytics and hop counts are all done tomorrow I'll have a better idea. As of 5:30 this evening I'm reporting 25 hops, 5 opt-ins and 55 unique views.

The bounce rate is concerning me though I don't understand how someone could click out and actually be interested in buying in 0-10 seconds. : /
