I know how to do a basic drop shadow in Photoshop, but does anyone know how to do something like in the headline of this page - Make An Extra $1,554 In CPA Commissions A Day! Basically I can't figure out how to get the white layer inbetween the red letters and the gray shadow ... ?? |

Hey, I love to help people, I am not that good at Photoshop, but I know how to do that! I am actually doing some Photoshop as I am writing this, creating a sales page for myself ![]() Ok, basically those white lines that you see there are done using the option 'stroke' in Photoshop. Under blending options where it has 'drop shadow' and 'inner shadow' click on 'stroke' and then type in how many px you want the thickness of it, and you can also change the color. That is by FAR the easiest way to do it. You can then choose Inner stroke or outer stroke. And then an ordinary drop shadow was added. If you need any more help with screenshots, just post a reply saying so |

See, I'm not damn sure this will do it but try this -- 1) Write the text. 2) Ctrl + A and select the whole text's layer (and not the actual text). 3) Go to Select > Modify > Expand and expand it by 3 pixels. (or 2, whatever you want.) 4) Click on New layer and bring that layer below the text's one. Fill it with white. It won't show at this stage because your background is white too but in the next step it'll show up. ![]() 5) On the NEW layer go and drop shadow. That should give you the desired effect. ![]() EDIT: Oh well, you don't need to do all that. You can just add a border and then drop shadow to get that effect. |

Yes, thats the default shadow option with a border. To get the white layer you need to hit "border" (bottom) and change it to 5-6 pixel, color white. |

Write your text and set the color you want. Go to your Layer pallet and double click on the layer this brings up the "Layer Style" box. Check the "Drop Shadow" box. Click on the bottom box named "Stroke", double click on it and click on the color box changing it to white. This enables you to create a white outline surrounding the lettering. Alter the pix width to 2 pixels. Click "Ok". And there you have it, the look you're going for. |

Right click on the layer, select Blending Options and check both the Drop Shadow and Stroke button. And voila, you should have your drop shadow and your white layer.

However, sometimes the stroke features produces less than crisp results...in that instance I make the font bigger than I want in white, and ctrl click the layer, select modify, contract, then fill a new layer with the color I want. (this is sort of the opposite mentioned above, as that will also distort the line a bit.

You need to add a 'stroke' effect of about 2px to the text. John Burton |

Yeah what John said... it's really not as complicated as selecting/expanding. 1. Write your headline. 2. Right-click the text layer, select 'Blending Options' 3. Add stroke 4. Add drop shadow. |

It's not just a Drop Shadow but It's a stroke and a Drop Shadow. Just apply white stroke to red text and then drop shadow and you will get something exactly like this. Hope it helps |
