Can You Really Make $500 in one day using Squidoo?

While many people has given up using squidoo lens to drive traffic or
for affiliate sales, somebody have made $500 in one day with his squidoo lens.

For those who are unaware, squidoo used to be a great site to get traffic, many
affiliate marketers use it to optimise for keywords and get their lens ranked for
top positions in google first page.

However, this leads to many affiliate marketers spaming on squidoo and many such
lens are suspended and deleted.

So, what's the secret of this person who made $500 in one day?

Ans: He did not promote a single clickbank product and only wrote good and
honest product reviews.

All the products he recommended are something he really believes in and that
his customers will benefit from buying the product.

So what's your experience with squidoo?

Not only with squidoo, but with almost any website for that matter. Even if it's weebly, it's definitely possible with targeted traffic. Maybe you need to work really hard for a month on 2 - 3 niches to achieve that amount quickly. But YES it's definitely possible.

Yup. You can. I make serious bank with Squidoo around Halloween as I have stuck mostly with Halloween themed lenses. Combine Squidoo with affiliate programs such as Commission Junction and Linkshare and you can make a nice penny.

However, you need to put some time and effort into content creation. I think one of the big mistakes new lensmasters make is thinking that throwing up a lens with just a wee bit of content and a couple of affiliate links will work.

If you get sales this way, consider yourself lucky, but just imagine what you could do if you actually put time and effort into creating a "full" lens.

I would stay away from putting too much unique content on Squidoo, as when you give them your content you aren't really building a long term business for yourself. Squidoo is just another way to get traffic. You should start your own site that you drive traffic to via Squidoo.

Yes, if you pick a good niche, use profitable keywords wisely, and dont over promote, add interesting content, you will get traffic from your squidoo, and it will earn you some $$ every month.

I have also discovered that squidoo only like affiliate links where they share in your money, so the lenses with Clickbank affiliate links are more likely to have problems with publishing.

Pick subjects that your in-house Amazon and eBay modules can earn you spare $ while promoting your website and you can't go wrong.

I am using squidoo lenses for bringing traffic to my main sites only. I never tried any affiliate programs on my lenses. $500 per day is too big but I don't think it is impossible. As Harrisonj said squidoo is better used as a traffic generating tool.

I used to use squidoo but it was mainly for links to articles and to my affiliate landing pages. Then squidoo took down all my lenses and I had to transfer them to hubpages and weebly.

My advice is don't put all your eggs in the one basket. If you are using squidoo also use hubpages, weebly, blogger etc all to generate traffic so that if one source gets taken down it doesnt impact everything.

It's easy - just use the Amazon and eBay modules that Squidoo let you add to your lens.

Hey Fluff,

I know you're one of the squidoo masters round here..Just want to ask..

Is it still profitable? I've made several lenses (39 in all) managed to get 1 to top 10k and about 2 or 3 in the 100k (lensrank).

The top lens I have has about 100+ traffic per week, total more than 100 clickthroughs to date but still hasn't made anything from the Squid...

Could you give us some pointers...I'll be trying my hands on it again but I think I should plan ahead the things to do..

My total earnings from Squidoo is just about 2 dollars..I feel it's pathetic..like some wasted effort..funny thing is the 1 dollar I'm supposed to be paid out didn't even came

I'm charging it all to experience..though using a squidoo lens to rank high in the Search engines is still very effective..that's what I use it for now..but I no longer expect to make money directly out of it..

Disclaimer: This is just me by the way..there are Giant Squids raking in good cash out of it..

Yes, Squidoo is still profitable. I've been consistent making 3 figures every month for 2 years now. Even more during the Christmas shopping season...

The site as whole is getting more traffic than ever before, around double what it was last year [source: Quantcast.com]. There are, however, a lot more Lensmasters and Lenses competing for that traffic.

Figuring out how to make a profitable lens is not easy. A good place to start is 'keyword research' - write lenses about topics that people are searching for, but aren't already saturated with webpages. Then, pick individual products that you can highlight and recommend. Keep it personal.
