Default Media Buying

I am interested in getting into Media Buying for some of my work at home products, since Google is becoming very strict on what they will allow for PPC. I do have a media background but have never bought for online. Does anyone have an recommended sites to start with or success stories?

What is your Market?

What is your NIche?

What is your Budget?

What are you sending readers to?

There are a lot of questions, I would suggest diagnosing your entire market.

I really don't have a budget right now...prob. looking at a few thousand a month. I would like to target people that are looking for work or just want to make a few extra dollars on the site. My niche would be work at home business products. I would be sending readers to one of my sales pages that talk about the success of people, just like them who have bought and used these products...

I have a similar question.
May can you elaborate more on your reasons for suggesting that?

youngaffiliate, there is a course that recently launched about media buying.
I've seen some reputable super affiliates recommend it and blog about it.
It's from the same people who run PPC Coach.

We buy on most major portals and your normal affiliate spots. Just be prepared to lose before you win. Optimizing is the only way to make bank with media buying and it def helps if you can get an AM that knows their platform. Always try to negotiate a 24 hour out clause and make sure they spread your budget and not dump it as soon as they can. Frequency caps are another thing that you will need to figure out where you need to be.

Media buying is the quickest way to real money. Believe me. But as has been said, be prepared to spend a lot of time testing, optimising and probably burning a minimum of $50K before you get a proper handle on it and see real rewards.

Most important of all, develop the best possible relationship you can with your media planner! Brief them clearly, listen to what they say and *why they say it.*

Fully understand everything before you agree to scale up any campaigns.

It isn't for the faint of heart or the uninitiated...but like anything, the higher the risks the higher the reward.

As a competent marketer however, your job (in partnership with your media buyer) is to minimise that risk.

Thanks for all of this great info. Like I mentioned before...i have bought media and i know that it is very expensive and time consuming and i am aware of all of the discounts that i can talk, being that i had worked in an agency. Are there any seminars that you can recommend that are not web? Those are always not as interactive as i like.

Thanks !!!
