Default So, is SitePoint Marketplace Dead?

There I was at SitePoint, all eager to list my new wordpress templates for sale, and noticed something odd - active listings, but no apparent participation, such as asking questions and leaving comments.

Checked the forum, and read some threads complaining about how Flippa had killed the Marketplace.

Has anyone here who uses SP Marketplace experienced any change, particularly a drop in traffic, to their listings?

My real question is, am I throwing away my fee if I list my templates on SP?

I've listed a few sites on Flippa and every single one has sold so far, so I don't really notice a difference. I'm not selling templates though (I sell sites with revenue) so I can't really comment on your end of the market. Most of the questions I get are asked via pm, so I wouldn't worry if you don't see lots of questions and interaction.

I thought that SitePoint rebranded the website auction part and moved it to the flipper.com url. Maybe carved it off might be a better way of putting it, but now the website selling part is done at Flipper.

Tim, that's true. Websites and domain name auctions were 'carved' off. Templates, softwares and services are still at SP.

Isn't that kind of weird? I would have thought that templates were a section of web sites. O well, shows you what I know.

I think the only thing that was ever sold in mass on sitepoint were the domains/website piece. Prob will remain dead as the visitors you got there before prob go straight to flipper
