Hi all, I'm using a trial version of Keyword Elite 2.0 right now (I own and have been using Micro Niche Finder and Market Samurai for quite some time). While I'm impressed with KE2's ability to generate large keyword sets, I'm having problems trying to get competition data after that using either Market Sleuth or the Search Engine Dominator. Basically either of them gets my IP blocked by Google with those large keyword sets. Is there a suggested way of processing these without getting blocked? It's not a terribly useful tool to me without being to do so. Thanks! |

If it queries google, you will eventually be blocked for multiple searches. The only way I know around that is by using proxies, which is often more of a pain than it's worth. You can also move to sites like SpyFu once your blocked by google.

By the way, I checked out your keyword tool and bought it -- very nice! It's already done some nice work for me. If you get a large keyword set back from it, how do you suggest going about running competition numbers? | |

| Would it be a permanent block or just a temp block? I keep getting temp blocks.

My problem with the whole thing is the simple fact that for some competitive niches, ~200 keywords (such as MNF or Samurai will often return) just isn't enough to find terms that I have a chance with given the amount of time and resources that I have available. One thing I've been able to do is sort by Parent Keyword in Keyword Surge (what I think of as a group since I'm not using this for PPC) and highlight those terms in Keyword Surge for a particular parent keyword, and send it to either Market Sleuth or Search Engine Dominator. If you do it this way, in my experience, I'm not usually sending more than 10 terms or so which seems to work OK. The downside is if you have a list of 1000+ this immediately becomes a serious PITA ![]() I have also noted that some users on Brad's forum have SE Courtesy set to 4-8 seconds, which was quite a bit longer than I had it set for (2-5 seconds between requests). The downside of THAT, however, is it will take quite some time to get all the info back. In any case, my trial completely quit functioning on day 3 of the 14 day trial so it's moot for now. Apparently a recent update caused the trial to break.
