Article Marketing Longevity Question

Hello guys,
I have been promoting a few products at markethealth for a fair while now. All through article marketing. I was making a bit more then a couple of thousand per month. But over the last 3 months my conversion rate has gone through the roof.

Before this bad 3 month period i was converting around 1:55. But now i am converting 1:150. An absolute joke. The same articles are still bringing in the same amount of traffic. And they are still ranking the same, if not better. I have absolutely no idea what is going on. I have emailed and rang them. They seem to reckon that it is my fault. They think i should freshen up the content. But why?

The content (articles) is still promoting the same products. I don't see any reason why the content should have to change.

Has anybody else here experienced anything like this before. Where your articles starting converting less effectively?

I know that google rewards 'new content', but if your articles are producing the same results traffic and ranking wise, I don't know why you would change anything either. However, for some reason your recent traffic is obviously less targeted, thats what you have to figure out, why is it less targeted?

Thanks for answering VINNY. I don't understand why the articles would be less targeted. Nothing has changed with them. They have better rankings. But that's about it. I have sent them a message again. Saying in detail about my traffic. And whats happening now. I hope to hear from them tomorrow.

wow a consistant 1:55 conversion for 3 months then all of a sudden 1:155? wow

    what did you do?

did you tweek your landing page?

i would say thats weird. buy maybe its seasonal. since its winter, they dont mind getting fat under more clothing (assuming your niche based on the name "markethealth").

no longer trying to obtain the beach body for the summer maybe.

    Hey dude,

Check out Google trends for your keywords and see what it has to say. As ActionPlanBiz said a few posts up - could be seasonal. I promote the stretch mark cream with market health and find that it trends with the getting pregnant market. I offset this by promoting a getting pregnant product too. It's kind of like 'hedging' in the stock market. When it's the high season to try and get pregnant, the pregnancy niche sells well, 9 months later give or take, the stretch mark niche takes off again.

But I also think doing some due diligence on your affiliate network could be a good thing. Check some other posts for recent happenings with Market Health

    Cheers

Have you made any changes at all to your landing page? Sometimes a very small change can make a difference.

If not, why not look at making some changes now - make sure that you split test them though.

I'm no expert on how it works, but I understand it's possible for nasties to hijack affiliate links. Are your links cloaked? Even if so, you might want to check the process just to be sure. It sounds to me like your problem is mechanical, not a marketing thing. You might check out things with your affiliate source, too. In fact, it's generally best not to depend on one vendor. You might test another one for awhile.

    Hey guys,
i got an email from them today explaining this could be one of the problems. Ill paste a snippet:

"Eventually, you're going to saturate the market - and people will get sick
of being linked to the same product. You may consider promoting some of our
newer products, and see if any of your conversions improve."

What are your thoughts? You see 1000's of articles on the money making niche. Could this be true? But i guess just about everyone one of my articles i publish i make sure it ranks in the top 4 in google. So i could be saturating the niche i am in.

Also with the affiliate link hijacking. Would i be still getting the same amount of traffic. If my links were hijacked?

If your outgoing links are being hijacked it would have nothing to do with your incoming traffic. I suppose you could catch up with your market to some extent, though I wouldn't think that would cause an abrupt drop. Anyway, it would be wise to be marketing some other products and diversifying your efforts.

Thanks for your recommendations. I think i might see what they say about link being hijacked. I do not just promote one product at market health. I promote 5 products.

I this is the case. I don't think it will bother me. But thank you very much for your idea
