Monetizing Celebrity News

Well, I'm at a bit of a loss......I've gotten 170 visits in the last 4 hours for a trend site I threw up on blogger. It's on a recent celebrity happening, and you might even know what it is, haha.

Anyways, I've got Adsense, but of course Adsense doesn't have anything that is even near related to celebrity news. I also don't know of any products relating to celebrity news.

Is there any way I can monetize this? Averaging 60 UVs an hour is killing me because I can't monetize it! It's the most traffic I've had by far to a website.

ahhh celeb traffic is so hard to monetize.

I would try some CPA offers or another ad network that pushes cpa. etology maybe.

Well, I've never tried CPA yet, but this is prompting me to do so then! I'll give it a shot and see what it's worth.

Use the popular "polls" method. Cater it to your celebrity. I.e. if it was LeBron James, your poll could be "Is LeBron James Going to be MVP this Year?" Option one would be "Click Here for Yes" and option two would be "Click Here for No." You have to really spell things out for these surfers. Also, be sure to use tracking202, or prosper202, just so you can find out which pages, and offers are converting, or converting well together.

Sure, the lead quality won't be that great, but zip submits and other similar offers get scrubbed all the time anyways.

Is this your URL or a blogger domain? If it's yours I'd install a cloaker, quick, fast and in a hurry and send those bad boys straight to your poll. Your conversion rate will go way up while the traffic is hot. WordPress Cloaker the cats meow for your cloaking and autoblogging needs (not an affiliate, just a user).

It's a blog on blogger. I made it REALLY quick once I found the news lol. What polls websites would I use? I've never done anything with polls.

Has it hit in the Google search already?

No, it isn't indexed. It has exactly 200 views as I'm looking at it now. I need to milk some money before it goes away.

Some are, but I promoted heavily on yahoo answers. That's where the juice is coming from. Other traffic from reddit too.

But does anyone know any CPA networks that I can sign up for instantly that do polls? I need to get on this thing!

I use MaxBounty, WotoGepa, and revolution202 for offers. If you give them all a shout and let them know you have traffic you need to get converting right away you'll be in business.

WP-Easy Polls is a great, free tool to create polls with WordPress. Quick setup, and start, with pre-built landing pages. You've got to have your own host - or - wordpress.com account (I believe will work). If you don't have a host at all you need to go to tracking202 and sign up for a free account.

Only the special ones fellow Laurence. Just a spin with using polls do you introduce the offer before the poll or when the surfer clicks an answer they just get a surprise?

Here's something to better explain the whole poll gig. Sample Va Tech vs. UVA Poll

The whole poll should be above the fold, and explicitly say what they're going to get, and what they have to give.

You can see that I have a metarefresh setup, along with prosper202 to rotate offers. Every time you reload the page, a new offer will show up.

I don't know why I didn't just do this earlier.

This is the beauty of IM - you need all 3 things in your funnel: traffic, an offer and SALES.

Now you need to think about that funnel and what is is you need next.

You have traffic - awesome. Now you need to get that traffic to turn the corner. What can you give this "user profile" that they will be slightly more interested in than the 'news' they've just discovered. Is it a dead Michael Jackson? give them a ringtone. Is it a Rhianna getting smacked by Chris Brown? give them a phone skin of rhianna & chris. Is it patrick swaze dying of cancer, give em a CPA to a charity foundation. Is it Brad and Jen fighting again.... link to the "legends of the fall" DVD on Amazon.

Just think of WHO your visitors are. You'lll figure out how to monetize it.
