I have just launched a website which contains my affiiliate links to sites like Clickbank, Amazon and Google. I was hoping I'd start making money immediately but I learnt that I would need to drive traffic to my site. I am totally at a loss on how to do this so I'm wondering if there is anybody in the house that can bail me out.

Do you have a blog or html site? If you have a blog you can submit it to places like blog catalog, you can ping, and do some other things. If you have a regular html site, you'll want to bookmark the pages, and depending on the topic of the site you can post in forums for it, add the link in your signature at some places. You can write articles on the topic for the article directories, and point them back to your site. You can pay for traffic with PPC. You can submit answers on yahoo. You can comment on other peooples blogs and websites and link back to your site with your name You can work hard to SEO the site to push it to the top page of searches for your desired keywords You can make a video about your niche and link back from youtube You can submit your site to some directories You can join some places like facebook and twitter, and spread the word about what you do and how your new site will help others You can use the search function on this forum and get a million other traffic ideas. |

Avenuegirl has some very good tips. As you now know, if you build it, it WONT come. traffic doesnt just magically appear to your site. If you want fast traffic and a lot of it, go ppc, but this costs and if you are completely new, you will likely lose money at first. The easiest free methods in my experience is youtube videos, articles, offline, yahoo answers, classifieds. Good luck | |

There are also a number of good WSO's on some traffic methods you may not have heard about, i'm sure there is a free report on here too that can help you even further, but avenuegirls tips should be enough for you to start with!

Great advice above, You should also consider adding your site to your signature on this forum, all forums, and your out going emails. Check my sig for a very powerful method of generating free targeted traffic. One more thing, I made a big mistake when I first started by sending traffic right to a sales page, It didn't work and I wasted a lot of traffic. Why was it wasted? Because if I sent it to a squeeze page I'd still have a lot of it. We all do it, we all need money NOW, try to fight the urge of sending your visitors right to a sales page and build your list first, you'll be glad you did. |

Greatgrace, You have some really great traffic ideas from everyone here. My suggestion is to know who you are targeting first. Identify the target market that will be interested in the products you are promoting. You can test this with PPC initially and aim ppc ads at them. When you first use ppc you will more than likely loose money at first but then you can use the data you gather to optimize your ppc campaigns. Once you identify a target market that are willing to buy through your affiliate links, then you can go blitz on the other organic traffic generation methods that avenuegirl mentioned above. If you don't have an idea who you are targeting initially you are wasting time and money. Identify the targets for your promotions. Don't drive traffic without specifically targeting anyone to see what happens. It will leave you frustrated when you do it and don't see conversions. |

there are so many ways to drive traffic. you can use youtube videos or articles, just as a quick way to start getting some traffic and sales. after that you will want to reinvest 50% of your commisions to test out a yahoo and msn ppc campaing. after you see that you are getting good traffic and comversions, you should incorporate seo strategies. Optimize your site and begin to build high pr backlinks. try ranking one keyword a week for 3-6 months. then focus on strategic partnerships with other web sites in your niche. try to form some type of alliance that will benefit you both. Mail for them so they will mail for you. Also start focusing on getting some type of media attention, become friends with the writers of radio shows and tv shows in your niche, alert them to good story ideas. then once you are good friends mention your site to them. |

There have been a ton of great ideas posted here, however, I'd like to add one major thing... Don't do them all. I still have *A LONG* way to go re my internet marketing education, but I know enough to know that IM as a whole can be a HUGE undertaking. And when you're new, and otherwise uninitiated, it can be *VERY* easy to get distracted, or try to do several things at once. This will honestly just lead you to not knowing how to really do anything, and half-a$$ing every bit of it. Not that that will be your intention, but it will still likely end up being the result. My advice is to pick one thing, learn how to do it, and spend all your energies/efforts in doing that one single thing. Leave all the rest to the side until you are comfortable in that one area enough to try and learn something else. There was a thread here on Article Marketing that was very good and detailed a WF member's step-by-step process on how he did it. I recommend following it - I plan to on my next product: There have been a ton of great ideas posted here, however, I'd like to add one major thing... Don't do them all. First post some articles in free article sites. Then find some like sites and see if they will link exchange with you. This is a great way to get traffic. The main thing is to do SEO on your pages to make sure you get listed near the top of search engines. You can also do PPC (pay per click). If you learn to stretch your budget, you can get a ton of clicks (traffic) for just a few cents. It's all about the keywords. Pick keywords that get just a few thousand searches per month. That way no one is bidding them too high. |

I just read Ewen Chia's book "How I made My First Million on the Internet and How You can Too." It is packed with great affiliate marketing information with super tips on how to drive traffic to your site. I highly suggest getting it for the help your looking for. He talks extensively about how to be a great affiliate marketer who runs a profitable long term business. It's not just about picking products and selling people 1x...you want to create a relationship with people and sell them lots of times... A website with an autoresponder is a great first start to being successful. Good Luck! |

Just stumbled over this post as i was reading this email some known marketer sent me and his wording seems to have fitted this post quite well in what you are asking If you are new to internet marketing then treat internet marketing or a website or blog as a fully fledge business, imagine this if your internet marketing was a car you had for the first time, would you spend money on it, of course you would we all do somwere, i mean for example if the tyre blows or the engine breaks down would you roll up your sleeves to get it fixed by your self or just hire the expert, i would hire the expert but if your new then you need to do some work also in making it a sucess, once you have mastered some sucess and have some sort of income start the following backlinking article writing social bookmarketing (dig hi five stumble, twitter ect) or keep an eye out for experts who do it dirt cheap for you on warrior forum, i have learnt so much form here then anywere else...great people andy |

There are quite a few ways, as mentioned above. Depending on the depth of your wallet you may want to start with things like: submitting articles submitting posts to places like Digg and Reddit. If you have a bit to spend, and depending on your niche: You can always pay for advertising on other sites PPC paid traffic (I don't recommend it much, usually terrible quality) Just a few ideas to get you on your way, good luck with your site! |

It is very hard for newbie to get traffic quickly and easily, only click on affiliate link not beneficial. Visitors must use the link for what it was submitted in the net. I do following things to get traffic to my affiliate links:- Google adWord, forum posting, ad in various free classified, free submission to any web site and directory listing. When I will earn some money then will try for SEO |
