Default South Africans - Can you make money promoting Ebay?

Good day everyone,

I have a question - can South Africans earn money promoting Ebay and are there any South Africans here you can confirm this?

If so, what is the payment method etc?

Thanks

Why limit the question to South Africans? Can anyone earn money promoting eBay nowadays? I gave up with eBay a year or so back as they were making it so hard for the sellers, and not much easier for affiliates. From the casual eye I've kept on them since then, it looks like things have got worse, not better.

I don't think very many people are making much out of eBay nowadays. Even eBay themselves seem to be losing money.

Hello there, thanks for your input. The reason why I asked South Africans is because us not being able to earn money into our Paypal accounts and the very high fees of processing other currency cheques etc got me thinking and I wanted to see what they said.

Well as you can see from this thread it looks like not many people are making cash, and maybe not South Africans as well.

Well I guess that idea of mine should be written down and visited later, what do you recommend?

Hi there, I'm a South African. I don't think it's a good idea to use ebay, rather use bidorbuy.co.za which is a better place to sell goods. The problem with selling goods on ebay is the difficulty of accepting money and the problem of shipping goods.

South African's can't use PayPal to accept money but you can use moneybookers.com if you're interested.

Let me know if I could help you with anything, I can give you advise where needed.

I didn't know you couldn't use PayPal. That seriously limits any attempt to sell on eBay as they really push PayPal as the only "safe" (ie makes eBay money) method of payment.

Well, as I said, I don't think many people are making money there any more. A large number of long-time sellers have dropped out, including me. You can only get screwed by eBay for so long before you realise it's just not worth it.

Written down? Maybe.

Visited later? No, not if you ask me. There are far better things to do with your time.
