Default How do You Stop Someone From Ripping You Off?

This is really getting old. I just came across a website (exact replica I might add) that is selling one of my ebooks (for $5 more). I know he is making sales because I got an email from someone who purchased from him. So he takes my product, duplicates the exact website, raises the price $5, spams everyone he can, makes the money himself....and my damn name is on the product!

Is there any way to stop this kind of thing? Would reporting it to gmail or paypal do any good?

I just reported the paypal email address to paypal. My guess is they won't do anything. They use a gmail address, but couldn't really find where to report that. any suggestions would be appreciated.

If they actually broke the law... Seek legal guidance, If they are from a country like turkey, I guess there isnt much you can do except report them to google etc and try get them removed. If they are from uk/usa etc... and you can proove its your product etc... im sure you can get them to stop via court.

If people that bought the book contact you...you could play it several ways.

1. Be their friend, offer them goodies for providing you with any details such as where the payment went, sales pages used, anything involving the transaction.

2. Tell them you were ripped off. Its not their fault for not knowing, but if they refund you'll send them a legit book and an extra gift.

Someone sent me a url of a video on UTube where the guy is virtually citing my e-book with a few changes and additions he has made to the facts. Can't stop that. As someone said to me once ideas are like genes, once they are out there you can't call them back.

ACT STRONG.

First of all send him cease and desist letter. (google it and make a search for it in this forum maybe)

Then contact his hosting company and ask them to take the illegal site down.

So simple...this has happen to me over 20 times....the more popular your sales, the more the greedy con artist come out.....it's a fact..
So you tell them this...listen up !!

Here's what I say.....I send them an email explaining who I am....then I say I am pressing a law suit for 17.5 Million Dollars....use an odd number....it makes them think about it....don't just say 1 Million or 20 Million....say 17.5 Million or 13.7 Million...get the point....and say your lawyer is drawing up the papers to have them appear in court. Tell them you own the rights to this and it's under International and USA copyrights. Tell them you also contact the F.B.I. to inform them on an online scam taking place.....and tell them you'll see them face to face in court in a few weeks and you can't wait for the show down......

Trust me they will run to the hills...making a few bucks isn;t worth the stress to them...If they don't back down....simple call the real FBI...I am not joking, they are cracking down on scam artist.....

I think point 2 is a great idea, which will tye in very well with point 1. After you have the proof report them to google, I guess.

I emailed her and she was thankful for me letting her know. She is going to file a refund with paypal, so we'll see what happens. I like the 17.5 million lawsuit reply too, I'll try it.
