hottest profitable niches of the past - now saturated

Hey Guys,

I'll start the list:

Make money online: still hot, but boy it's saturated!

Penis enlargement:
What a desperate market, and will pay a lot for a little gain, but saturation has been growing (pun intended)

How to get girls: people will shell out tons of cash for some love, but also pretty saturated, everyone is a pick up artist wanting to sell you some information nowadays

What other niches can you guys think of? ones that can earn well but are now too difficult to get decent rankings on google.

have fun with your descriptions

    "Free mp3 downloads"!

Im sitting pretty on page 2-3 for many related keywords but other mega sites have page 1 locked up - Amazon, EZTracks, MP3.com etc.

I still get some decent long tail page 1 results though.

I don't think any market is or ever will be completely saturated as long as there is a demand. The secret to successfully competing in such a market is careful keyword research. I don't mean using 1000s of long tail phrases with 12 searches a month and a competition of only 5000 competitors, I mean keywords with a search volume of at least 500 and less than 50000 competitors. Can be ranked for easy.

It also depends on what you are doing. In terms of article marketing and seo, yes those markets certainly are saturated, but if you dive into a different marketing channel, it could be completely different.

For example, things like twitter, facebook, and forum marketing. I'm not saying there isn't competition, but it is not at the level of article marketing, that's for sure!

Saturated, yes. But you should still be able to find keywords you can rank for in any of this niches with a little hard work so why not go for it?

I was just wondering what have been the hot niches. the ones where people made a ton of money if you were the first ones in there

Learn to market and build a REAL business with valuable information
and great customer service and add value to prospects lives coupled
with a KICK ASS marketing plan, and you don't have to worry about
    "Saturation".

Maybe if you are trying to get in a make a quick buck. But if there
are lots of people looking for what you are selling then who cares about
    how much competition there is?

I'm also working on that. I'm currently working on an ecommerce store for my mom's company: a lingirie clothing line. and I've also buili (now marketing) my own ecommerce store for a niche I've identified.

and i have nothing to do other than this, so i certainly have time for it

I'm so new to this that I'm just curious of what the old hot niches were. jeez

        The robe market was saturated.

Then a company suggested wearing them backwards and aired a bunch of commercials selling their own backwards robe.

They had over $50 million in sales and are still selling.

Sometimes you just have to think outside the box.

I can't believe I am post #15 and nobody has mentioned Forex?!?!?

Ebay. Its not really saturated I guess, but FeeBay is going downhill fast.

Make Money at Home (Saturated even before the internet then morphed into make money online) Think infomercials.

Run Your Car on Water. Google Banned them all - enough said

Those are the ones that come to mind quickly

Let's take weight loss: So there's never going to any more new diets fads? Everyone in the world already knows all there is to know about diet and nutrition? I don't think so.

No niche is monolithic, there are constantly changing and undiscovered search patterns in all niches , there are manifold opportunities in "saturated" niches. If people don't want to enter, great, less competition!

To avoid saturations, try to get into as many niches as possible, if you are lucky you may have landed on one or two which are not as saturated yet.

The key I have found in a new course I have been studying is GOOD keyword research. Long tail yes, but results with at least 3000 searches per month seems to be the recommendation. Any thoughts?

I once had a client who was repeatedly told not to get into the "self-improvement" market because it was "over saturated". When he came to me I told him that word is meaningless to me because if you have the right marketing foundation and acumen, you can compete in virtually any market. He raked in about 800k in net sales last year and he hasn't even gotten on TV and radio yet. He found a great USP and began advertising / publicizing in areas that his competition wasn't.

A few years ago I was advised by a well known marketer to stay away from the dating niche (for men) because it was ferociously competitive and saturated. I had been doing offline coaching for men and decided it was time to get online. Today I'm glad I ignored that advice. Also there's a guy named Eben Pagan who kicked some serious ass in that niche when it was "saturated".

Saturated niches can be pure gold if you know how to compete. It's a matter of having a solid marketing foundation and knowing how to use channels of distribution to your advantage. As one example, how many niches can you compete in by simply learning how to get on different radio stations as a free guest and garner a TON of free publicity? The Chicken Soup For The Soul guys did it this way and the rest is history....

Saturated can be a good thing, at least, from my point of view.

I only chose markets where there is tons of competitions

the way you position yourself and monetize is another story, if you only promote the same products that everybody promote; you need deep pockets

just create a great product in any of the 3 niches you mention and a great affiliate program. And you make a killing.

    my 2 cents

wow, seems like a lot of you missed the question. The reason I am asking is precisely that, I wanna know what they are so that I can consider going into them.

The question isn't should I go into it or not, the question is what are they?

    Thanks

Recently, I've noticed the rising popularity of reversed niches like reversed pone look up, reversed directory etc.

I have an idea, let's reverse these saturated hot niches

    1. Weight loss ~ How To gain More Weight
    2. Penis Enlargement ~ Penis Shrinking Techniques
    3. Make Money Online ~ How To Burn Your Millions In 2 Minutes Or Less Online

Your target market here are those who bought and became successfull with the previous products on varoius original niches. I'm sure they have the buying power!
