I am wondering about technical problems due to which there may be a delay in the download of the ebook I am selling and what should be included in my terms....Something like : On occasion, technical problems may delay or prevent delivery to you of eBook. However we shall not be liable for any such technical problems delaying your download and you shall not be liable for any refund. We will make reasonable efforts in rectifying the problem so that the ebook is downloaded instantly and encourage users to notify us of any problems. is something like the above the norm or do you want to refund customers the money incase the download does not happen at all or there delay of say a few days? I guess these problems do happen when you download things, and I have need to have the right thing writtem in the terms, any advice will be appreciated. Many Thanks |

if you have a money back guarantee and a good support system, then it won't matter if there is a problem with delivery of your ebook. I would be more worried about making sure your delivery system is setup correctly, then worrying about the wording of your terms in case there is a problem. Robert |

I wouldn't worry about this. Chances are, they'll get the ebook right away and even if there's a delay, they probably won't ask for a refund. I've never had anyone ask for a refund because they didn't get their ebook instantly. I just make sure I answer emails quickly and get it to them manually if instant delivery is down for whatever reason.

Here's a really simple answer (I can't believe you didn't think of this yourself): If someone buys something from you and you (for whatever reason) can't deliver what they purchased, give their money back to them if they want it back! You should have a refund policy that you stand by. If you can't stand by it, why do you have it? Of course, if you know you may have a problem delivering the product, don't outright tell them! (I certainly wouldn't state any such disclaimer saying they don't get a refund if they can't download the product!) And don't refund their money until they ask. But when they ask, don't drag your feet. Do it right now! Keep them happy - they may turn out to be one of your biggest buyers in the future. Much better yet, get your head around your delivery system and get it straightened out ASAP, or stop advertising. It's your choice: A good reputation takes years to get, but a bad reputation can be gained quite easily. That's why we always test things to make sure it is operating correctly. When you put up a new site, actually buy your own product, just to make sure everything works. You'll sleep better. |
