Perhaps I'm naive, but is this some marketing strategy to see my page?

I've mentioned here that I'm new and my presell page isn't all that great. Since posting that, I have gotten 2 or 3 people PM'ing me saying they'll take a look at my page and give me tips on how to improve it.... only to completely ignore me for weeks. This has happened a few times.

My question, are people just asking for my page address to see if there's anything they can use off of it? i.e., certain wording or ideas, and have no intention of actually helping me?

I know it's a naive questions, and certainly there are many marketers that prey on my type, it just seems strange that this keeps happening.

It's irritating too.

It's possible, but I doubt they are preying on you. More likely they didn't know how to help or decided not to take the time.

perhaps that's exactly what they are doing - especially if they PM you but don't post in the thread.

Did you check them out before accepting their "offer"? You can view profiles to see what they post here and whether they seem to know what they are talking about.

Not really. It makes perfect sense, but as being new I make quite a few mistakes. Luckily I am learning from them.

Infact, I have a rather large post about a certain IM on this board that I intend to post soon that offered help for free, only to waste my time and money for about a month. I won't post his name if that's against the rules, but I do want to warn other newbies against this sort of thing.

I asked for help on one of my landing pages once and I had a guy PM me with a few tips on how I can improve it. At the end of his message he told me how he does it professionally and then offered me his services.

It could very well be that it's just copywriters looking for work, but for whatever reason they decided not to follow up.
