Default Marketing Tools

Hi everyone, I'm looking to the best and most effective ways to market my online business and I'm trying all the free stuff as well as looking at Google ad words. The free stuff I'm trying are classified ads, Facedbook, Twitter, You Tube, Blogger, FFAs, etc, etc, etc.

All of these efforts are you yielding very little for me. Can anyone recommend a SINGLE sure fire way to skyrocket my traffic?

Many thanks in anticipation.

Regards, Kevin.

Hi Kevin,

Doing a little bit of everything each day will help boost traffic. Things don't just happen overnight (like some people claim). You can NOT just buy and eBook which says:

"look at the keyboard" and traffic will flow! There are no push button systems, that's just BS.

Do a little bit of everything in all areas.

It works for me on my blogs.

Best wishes
David

You need to focus, if your just starting out, on long tail buying keywords, and do good onpage and offpage SEO. Build up your PAGE RANK.

Dominate Google's first page...and your traffic will come.

This is so true, it does take time but once you are on the first page of google and you have a good buying long tail keyword then the traffic will come big time.

You need to also dominate bing.com. Bing is the fastest growing search engine right now and if you don't get SEO'd for it you will be behind! It is completely different from google.com. The SEO for bing is not like the SEO for google. My sites ranked from number 5 to number 1 in google but they weren't even indexed by bing until I optimized them the correct way.

Social media is powerful when you know exactly how to use it. Dont forget about video marketing at youtube, metacafe, and all other popular video sites. Always include your links on your videos.

Hi Mark, could you clarify what you mean by '' long tail buying keywords'' please?

Thanks.

That is a program I am working on now. The recommendation is to find keywords with at least 3000 searches per month and dedicating a site to each said keyword (about 5-10 total) with a good squeeze page can generate about $1000/month profit for the average person.

My question is, how in the world do you find a good long tail "buying" keyword...any thoughts?

Intriguing. How does the optimization on bing work? Sounds like it's entirely different than Google, per your post...

Hi Kevin

If you are unsure about what a longtail keyword is then it sounds like you really need to do "SEO 101" - get your sites optimized for google search, and build links to those pages. Unless you are quesrying what they mean by "buying" longtail keywords, in which case I have no idea either!

I suggest as a starting point this from authority SEO site SEOMOZ:

I have not read much that says you can do anything hugely different to increase your Bing ranking, domain age and link anchor text seem to be more important according to some analysis.

One thing I do know for a fact though is that within 2 weeks of adding my sites to a bing webmaster account, they are more highly ranked than they had been for months. Possily a co-incidence, but I recommend getting a bing webmaster account just in case!

As per observation, bing is still eating the dust of off google..

Though we should also check out how to optimize pages for bing but IMO it's not yet that effective..

That's just me eh..

Ok, bing.com? Without giving away the farm so to speak, where can we get info on SEO for Bing? SEO is hard enough .... does it require a total seperate website to get ranked or just addding to an existing site? Any Suggestions ... where to start, etc.?

Hi Kevin,

I would suggest the SEO for your site and article marketing with long tailed buying keywords. Wordtracker.com is a good place to use their keyword research tool also keywords.google.com is a nother great place to use a FREE keyword tool. Once you find some keywords that have good search traffic, you' want to dig even deeper to find those niche keywords that make sense for your site.

Hope that helps along with the other suggestions here....
