My EZA article knocked my own page off google's 1st page

I had written an article for my blog, published it and promoted through various web 2.0 sites and did some other backlink building. I think published it through a couple of article sites. EZA took 7 days for it to go live. In that time I got to position 1-5 for a number of a search terms on google. Now, the EZA page has gone live and has basically knocked me off the entire 1st page of google. Seems kinda strange and Im really debating whether or not it was worth it to use EZA?

Anyone know why this might be happening?

I'm new to the whole Internet Marketing thing.

Don't worry, the website will bounce back and will probably outrank the ezinearticle. You'll see stuff like this happen a lot...

    Hahahaha that's awesome isn't it?

Anyway, yeah just keep building links to your site, ezine articles will generally bounce around and then it will go down a bit. So don't sweat it too much and just keep working on it.

You should eventually outrank it but just in case do some backlinking.

Sorry, hahah, but that seems kinda funny and ironic to me. I think that your website will bounce back into the slot, seeing as how I'm sure it's loaded with content and that article is just that, one article. I've heard quite a few people talk about how they get really good rankings in google right when it's indexed, but then get replaced by the old tops soon after.

It is going to be really hard for your web site to out rank that article. Unlike what everyone else is saying here. The reason is Google loves ezine articles but really is not in love with your site and the reasons are. The age of your domain, the number of backlinks to your domain will never reach near what ezine articles has and the number of pages ezine articles has your site will never reach it. Best bet... Maybe removing your article from the ezine?

You're unlikely to outrank EZA in the short term, but if you keep the content on your site fresh you "might" outrank the article in the longer term. There's no reason your site can't be in another spot on the first page though, with some more backlinking (depending what else is already on the first page). If you've already been on the first page it shouldn't be too hard to get back there again.

NOT TRUE! I have been in this situation MANY times and always have been able to outrank the EZA article. Make sure you follow the basic principles of SEO and with time and backlinks you will do it.

      This is wrong ...

      1. It is easy to outrank EZA - I frankly do not care what anyone says I have done it with a brand new domain name. Google does not love eza, most marketers do.

      2. Build backlinks and do proper seo it is that simple.

      3. Age of domain has nothing to do with it.

      4. My authors in fact do outrank eza and my site is .... wait for it ... Oh .. a .... PR 1 This is because PR does not mean anything at all.

EZA did not kick yours back ... its normal... Just keep building backlinks... Example go submit to a few hundred bookmarking sites.

Funny it only happened to me once but it only knocked me down to #2. I soon bounced back and now have so many blogs, articles and other links dominating the first and second pages with my site information on all of them. Just keep plugging away and you'll end up the same way.
