What Online Payment Processor Would you Recommend?

Hi there,

Just wondered what your opinions are on online payment processors.

If you were selling a physical product for in excess of $1000, who would you use.

Take into account, a company that does NOT require a merchant number...

I would suggest PayPal as it is the most widely used payment processor.

Stating the obvious, the only thing that comes to my mind is PayPal.

Did you mean something besides PayPal?

if you just starting out then paypal,

There are many payment gateway but paypal is best among all. It is always a first choice and i think no can can beat it.

I use 1shoppingcart but I think we have it linked to paypal (it was a long time ago that I set it up!).

Anybody experience with Escrow services? For large sums of money this is a little safer than Paypal i think.

Why not your own merchant payment processor at that sales price? For a physical product at $1000 I would not offer just one option for payment.

Dont use ONLY paypal.

Use an alternative CC preocessor along with it. Like clickbank , swreg.org etc

You'd better use multiple payment processor together.That'll be better for different customers may have different payment gateway and preference.Although paypal now is the most popular,moneybookers and 2co are also very popular.Therefore,try to support all of them.

1Shopping Cart is not a payment processor it merely connects to one (such as paypal and/or your own merchant account).

I use both Paypal and SecurePay. They both take care of different markets very nicely.

I would highly recommend you avoid paypal and setup your own merchant account on that kind of ticket price.

Not a good idea to use Paypal for higher-end products. Maybe add it as a second option of your shopping cart software but you definitely need a proper company.

Heard great staff for WorldPay but never used them myself.

2Co can also be used as it offers both the Paypal and cc processing services.

PowerPay is the defacto processor in the IM world. They're a reseller for Authorize.net.

All the major players use them because they understand the IM world, product launches, digital products, etc...
