Web 2.0 sites are not designed to "promote products" I have no idea when marketers will get this through their head. When you use a web 2.0 property to spam your products all over it then they will start getting rid of accounts ... * Squidoo * Scribd Are just 3 of the sites that have cracked down. How would you like me to go to your blog and start slapping my products all around it ?? I bet you would ban me in a minute. Web 2.0 Sites are social media sites and they are designed to be a social community for others to communicate and participate in the community. This means adding value, making valued comments on others post, being helpful, making friends, joining groups and adding value to the groups and etc ... When you get to understand that is when social media websites will work for you. They are not there to be used as a spam marketing tool. If you take the time to join in the community you would get far more out it ... Don't get me wrong I am not saying your squidoo was a spam marketing lens but it's obvious squidoo felt it was. James |

No that is classed as advertising because you are linking to affiliate products ... Join in a community and share with no expectations of anything in return, that is your key - do not expect anything for helping others. When you have established yourself and you have followers then they will be willing to join your list or even buy something from you. It's really that simple.. James |

Ok well i am short on time to really be social on these sites as i need some cash right now so web2.0 sites are completely out for making any money on right unless i`m willing to spend time making friends and joining groups ? I really understand what your saying here but i am looking to make some kind of income here very quick as the work load coming in to my business is really drying up fast. So its building my own WP blogs thats the key here then ?? But what about the really successful squidoo affiliates making a ton of money using click bank products ?? |

Squidoo have banned some topics, not because they are spammy, but because they attract spam. If you believe your lens to be genuinely useful, then you can ask for a hand review. You might get lucky. Generally, I would recommend that you avoid such topics, and find something different that doesn't already have hundreds of lenses already - you'll find it easier to be successful this way.

Stop trying to follow what someone else does... So if someone spams this forum and does self promotion, should you follow them because they was not banned ?? Think about this one closely. Instead of being a follower, be a leader! James
