Default Hello from a newb

Hello all:

I lurked on this forum years ago, had loads of life happen, and have recently started lurking again, but wanted to do more. Actually, I got some good feedback from some people here a few months back on an affiliate program I was looking at starting (didn't pursue that yet based on the feedback).

I might be telling a fib - I'm not a complete newb. I've been selling information for about a year that's been profitable every month since month one (it was only $86 in the first month, but still!). However, I do feel like I've been working uphill on some issues, have been nervous about getting in to other ventures in the IM space, and generally have felt somewhat alone, because I've been doing it mostly on my own (with some phone calls with my brother as support now and then).

I'm not sure this is quite a 'coming out' post, but I did want to introduce myself some and say 'hello' and 'thank you' to so many of you who have posted great info for me to sink my teeth in to recently.

Side note - I live in Raleigh, but only heard about the meeting last weekend on *monday*! Was very miffed with myself for missing that! :/

In any case, 'thanks' again to all of you, and I will look forward to participating more in this brave new (to me) world.

Hello! I live in Raleigh a few years ago. Now, live in Mayberry (Mount Airy,NC)

This is a great site. You will find a lot of very helpful people here. Just ask.

The best thing is give your self a schedule and a list of To Do items.

You will do well with the help of your friends here at WF.

Welcome, Friend!

Thanks to both of you! I drive through Mt Airy a couple times a year (or close to it?) going back up north to visit family. We see the 'Andy Griffith Highway' and drive by Pilot Mtn.

As for a 'to do' list - can you give me an idea of what yours looks like (or looked like when you first started)?

BTW, I guess I can just ask here - is there a particular place here where people post ideas for tools they need or want? I'm a software guy by trade, and am constantly surprised by some of the needs I see people have (not specifically in IM, just around in general) that I either know of tools for, or more like, can write easily.

Sounds like a great forum to start... or at least a new thread... Let me know if you find one or start one.

Is it really my place to do that? If there isn't a forum for that, it'd seem to me like there's a reason for that (people don't want it). May be being too sensitive???

As an example - I dunno if there's a need for this or not - but I've been doing dynamic watermarking of PDFs for a long time. *I* can do it because I'm a tech geek who controls my own servers. Many/most people on shared hosting accounts probably can't do this at all, and even if their host allows it, they don't know how. I put up a sample/demo of what would be possible to integrate in to someone's site - just rewrite the URL to the PDF to hit the watermarking service and it'd be done. Ack - I can't add a link - michaelkimsal.com slash pdf

But this is me getting all geeked out over the tech aspect of things. I don't know if there's a need or demand for a service like this in the IM space. I can say there is for *my* IM products, but perhaps I'm just very niche?

Like Nike says, Just Do IT! I have been on my own since day dot, but, I made
connections with people via forums. After 3 years of this, only now are people
(family and friends) starting to listen to me and want to learn and know everything I do.

Your at the right place to go full steam ahead with IM.

Welcome back and good luck.
