Cheap Websites on Ebay

I was just browsing Ebay for the first time since I started a website and I'm amazed at how many auctions there are for complete adsense/shopping cart ready sites. I just saw one such store sell for $1.49. Whats the point of setting up our own Amazon affiliate or adsense websites if we can already buy a complete one for a few dollars, and whats the point of building a site to sell if the competition sells websites for under $2.00?

well, usually the cheap sites that you mention are duplicated turnkey sites, so they just crank them out over and over.

Also, they usually have a monthly hosting cost associated with them so they are making their money back from the monthly fees. And if you want to transfer to your own host, they charge a transfer fee.

It's all relevant to your supplier and your market. Where do you suppose the eBay sellers get their inventory? Do a search on PLR packages. You can buy ebooks, software, Webmaster tools, Web templates, recipes, jokes and lots of other digital stuff in bulk all day long. You might end up paying pennies for a quickie template to market a 'ready to go' site on eBay. If these sellers are smart, they've got some back end offer like customized design, content or hosting.

I was thinking about offering PLR products a few months ago so I spent about $75 and ended up with more than 30GB of Web related stuff. In the mix were several thousand Web templates. Many were really dated junk. But there were plenty that are actually quite nice. There were also some good video and audio courses, ebooks, and software. The real chore is sitting down and going through it all so you can separate the good from the junk.

Well, instead of choosing these kind of websites, it is better to create a free hosting account and host your website with them. You won't get good quality service, however, the content will be unique and you will get better results than these websites

I had also noticed an advertisement which said lifetime hosting for $4 or something like this on Ebay. Better not to use these kind of services and go for paid hosting providers.

I have a reseller's hosting account I got from ebay last year. The service is good, I can host unlimited sites, and it costs only $10 a month. No complaints here.

Like the guy above said, these are turnkey sites.

The only way to make good money flipping websites is to sell sites
that have proven revenue and traffic.

Even so, will having those "turnkey" sites earn money? Or will it get banned or something?

The reason I'm asking is ... opps, I've just bought a very cheap one at eBay ... the guy said it's "unique" ... guess if it's cheap, it's no good?

Forget the cheap-o 'turn key' eBay sites. Get yourself a few thousand nice PLR templates for about $15. Find a designer in the Warriors For Hire section here to customize the sites for you, or do it yourself if you've got the talent.

Then get a reseller's account from Host Gator for about $10/mo. or so. Business cards, flyers... You've got maybe $50 out of pocket to get started. Then hit the bricks selling sites to mom and pop offline businesses. Unlimited possibilities...

Funny because some websites have hidden links that can't be removed...say someone needs a mega website with 100000 back links...just create websites and sell them.....and you have a ton of backlinks to your site while everyone else does the work

Just went to ebay to check this out..

Funny there's one up for sale that says you can earn $5389 profits per month on an alcohol website - monetization : adsense...

It states that the only expense you'll have is a monthly hosting of $9.99 per month

Well if you ask me, this is a very good model...if you are the seller..at 9.99 $ per month on hosting that will be profitable...

What kind of fool would sell a site for $0.99 ( 99 cents) if it makes him $5k in profit monthly..

Again, this is a very good business model..if you are the one running it.

    All the best,

    omar

I hesitate to say what they are doing, because I've thought of doing it myself, and I've been watching the big sellers closely for some time now....but here we go.

For those that don't know....the way they can sell a site for 99 cents and make money, is because they are making $100 or more on the back end of each site through hosting.

Sure, if they sell 100 sites on eBay in a month, at 99 cents each, you think, so what? But most of those buying the sites are complete beginners, they don't know HOW or WHERE to host a site. Of course the seller says "Sign up with this host, it's only $5/month, blah, blah, blah". Now if they get even 50% to sign up with their hosting and make $100 each x 50 a month, that's $5k right there.

Yeah Josh I agree, this is very profitable if you are running it..

Imagine .info domains are just about a dollar each

There's a webhost that you can get for 4 dollars per year per 75 mb space.
Those adsense sites up for sale at ebay are just a page each. They charge $9.99 per month on hosting and it doesn't even include the domain name...OMG somebody is making a killing in profits...

    Very good business model indeed...

Most of the websites that are sold on ebay are turnkey, and rehashed. Usually, the seller is just trying to build a list and earn from the hosting revenues. Other than that, there are very few quality websites being sold there.
