Hosting content for Membership site

Warriors,

What is cost effective and reliable place to host Membership site content?

It will require high volume of content uploading/downloading. i do not plan to host on my shared hosting account.

Any inputs?

it depends a lot on the nature of the content.

Do you have a bazillion tiny files? Or hundreds of humonguous file? Or a mix?

What kinds of traffic patterns are you expecting? Lots of bursty traffic or steady over time?

Is the content all downloadable or is it going to be streamed?

What does the growth rate look like?

It's all about the DYNAMICS involved!

Once you identify these things, then you can start looking for hosting that provides what you need at a price you can afford.

All the "big boys" in the IM space use Amazon Web Services

You won't have to worry about server space if you use this option.

I have a lot of membership sites and I now host almost ALL of my multi-media content on Amazon's web services.

I use AmazonS3 as well.

I use AmazonS3 combined with EZS3 hosting (hosting and streaming of amazon files).
