Do you want the simple answer? or the one where you must study for months and months and maybe still be confused.

Google Adwords. Spend a week learning about Adwords. Then test, test, test.

    Simple!

Google Adwords is very powerful but you can lose a lot of money too. I advice you to study it and master it before you spend a dime on it.

      I have one of those....

I have years of SEO and linkbuilding though so I crush it in Google rankings, and am working on getting a storefront in case Google ever flakes out on us.

But aside from that, make sure you have analytics. You can find trends and buying habits of your customers, helps a lot with PPC too so you know what keywords to re-invest in.

There are hundreds of free ways to get tons of traffic to your websites. If you use Google Adwords you will be wasting your money and time because it takes a long time and studying to master Google Adwords. Just try some free ways such as article marketing, blog commenting, web 2.0 sites, social bookmarking, social networking, and creating blogs just to name a few. Good luck with your business.

I would agree that learning adwords would be essential to your business model. The reason for this is that it is the quickest way to find out which keywords would convert for you. You can always get free traffic from different locations, but if those keywords do not convert you will end up with no revenue.

There are also numerous analytics tools that can help you with your progress in regards to this. Making your job even easier. Try to find where your successful competitors are promoting and emulate what they are doing. There are also many ways of finding out what they are doing as well.

SEO is good for the long haul, but I always like finding out what is going to be working first before I get into that.

    Best of Luck!

Since you have physical goods, I would utilize the biggies like eBay, Amazon, Shopzilla, Pricegrabber, etc. You can make a decent number of sales just by using these sites. They should provide you with a little bit of income while you are working and tweaking your site for more traffic.

    Hi opsmin
There are different ways to approach clients to your site

If you are new and nobody know you, first of all you need to do some branding. People won't buy anything unless they know who are you and what do you sell. Remember that a client need to have contact with you at least five times before he decides to buy anything from you (that's the whole idea of advertising). To do that I recommend:

Strategic emailing. Send email tou your database with relevant info for your potential client on a regular basis (every week or every two weeks, the same day at the same hour).

Pay few bucks for adwords. For me, that works like a charm. A $100 gives me 100 visits every day for two or three weeks.

Don't make "right away selling" land pages. People need to be seduced first. It would be interesting to know what are you selling to give you a better advice.

Post link-comments on forums, yahoo answers etc. Backlinks will bring you traffic.

Also, don't forget that when you have a startup business, the first two months will be of learning about your product. You probably know everything, but following your visits and understanding what do they do in your site will give you the clue of how to display better your product.
Please don't forget also that commerce on the internet require time. Don´t get disappointed if in the first two or three weeks sales are not as you expected. Internet commerce is a resistance race.

Last thing. Monitor and track, monitor and track everyday at morning and at night everyday and on every approach try to understand what is going on.

    Don't forget offline technics.

    Hope it helps

the best luck for your new enterprise

    H Bayona

I sell physical products on Ebay and on my online store. I joined WF and the Warrior Room a few months ago. When I joined, I knew nothing about internet marketing, and never marketed my store.

In the 3 months that I have been here, 2 things have happened.

First, I am picking up some knowledge. Even though most of the info you read here will not be directly related to selling a physical product, a lot of the info can be used to market a physical product.

Second great thing that has happened was that I responded to a "warrior for hire" post. Call it luck or whatever else, but the job that this "Warrior" has done for me is amazing. Positive results are coming in already.

So bottom line is that this forum can be a huge help for those selling physical products online.

Adwords are great. There's a lot of other ways to market as well. A whole bunch of niche-related business owners spend time marketing themselves on related industry forums as well.

One particular industry that I am involved with is firearms... check out the entire industry presence that advertises and participates in the largest forum for that market AR15.Com
