My 600th Post: Are You Going After the Big Fish?

Hi Everyone,

I'm celebrating my 600th post! Hurray! I try to share things that I've learned over the years whenever I reach a milestone with my posts, and even though I've been doing internet marketing for almost 5 years now, I wanted to share something I've only recently started to take advantage of.

Going after the "big fish".

Don't get me wrong, little sales add up, but I am learning that if you are targeting big clients, you are able to spend more time into building your relationship with them, thus increasing your chances for a sale.

I do quite a bit in the "offline" field, and am able to approach people on a personal level. Once they hire me, I am able to understand their business and deliver my services in a way that meets their needs. I am also able to show them WHY they need me and exactly HOW I help them.

The other week one of my clients invited me to a get together where their business colleagues meet, and I will have the opportunity to promote my business to them with the backing of my client.

In this case, one client that is already making me hundreds of dollars, is leading me to the potential to make much, much more.

I am trying to take this way of thinking to my actions as an affiliate. I am working on building a list for a high-ticket item and am going to really reach out to the list and try to encourage individual contact. Of course this will take more of my time, but if my commission sales are XXX instead of XX, well that makes it more than worth it right?

    I'm celebrating my 93rd post!

Congrats on your BIG FISH. Personally I go after potential millions of small fish which may turn into bigger fish using proper marketing techniques.

Somehow face-to-face was never my thing and I found from my "offline" experience that there's only so much individual contact I can handle at any one time.

Honestly, for me it just sounds like any other J.O.B.

    Hey David,

Congrats on your pond of fish

Yeah, I know what you mean in regards to the effort that has to go into maintaining individual relationships with people, and how it seems more like a regular job.

Sometimes I wish I could just do affiliate marketing, and not have to worry about maintaining things with any client (especially when a client starts to feel like a boss), but I am so thankful to have income I can count on now every month.

I am successful with affiliate marketing, but things sure can be shakey sometimes. The search engines change the way they blow their wind and my income changes drastically. Now that I'm full-time in IM I am so thankful to know that clients X, Y and Z are happy and pay me a set amount each month.

big fish?At present, what I want is only fish,no matter that it's big or small. It needs time and devotion to create your own brand. Also the customer service is very important,I mean that maybe it could make small fish become big fish. Then it's not necessary you
to spend that much energy to find big fish.
