Default What sorts of IM tools do you wish existed, but don't?

Hello all:

Are there any sorts of tools to help your IM efforts that you'd like to see, but just don't exist? There's a number of software/dev geeks on here (including myself) that would probably be happy to look at putting together some tools or services that might benefit us all.

I broached this question in a previous thread and it was suggested to make it a topic on its own.

I wish there was software to take my video and audio and make me look handsome and my voice sound better

Actually, seriously, I wish there was a plugin that made Aweber blog broadcast actually work. Right now it is lame, to get the full article into the email you have to copy and paste the html into the excerpt or hack your feed (which obv causes problems when you upgrade).

Theres one that is out there but they funnel you through some bs.

a call center. people following up by phone when they opt in to your list. that would save a lot of time.

More youtube Tools! all these twitter softwares / apps / Tools and for what???

There is a product called "levelator" - not sure it's even updated anymore, but it's free.

It takes audio files only, but will 'level' them out - if there's background noise or a conversation where the voices are uneven, it does a pretty awesome job of making it all better. It's not perfect, but the best tool I've found for that.

While it's not video, and it won't make your voice sound *better*, it will make your conversations sound better. If anyone does podcasting or any form of audio file distribution, you need the Levelator.

I'm too newb to post links yet, but it's at
conversationsnetwork . org / levelator

I wish for a lot of things that people don't make usable on the mac. Just look up software and see - you'll have tons to keep you busy for a while, and if I knew there was a site that catered to IM mac users you can bet I'd be visiting quite often (and sure I wouldn't be alone).

I've been Linux for about 10 years so I know what that's like - been Mac mostly for about a year or so now. But since I'm relatively new to the IM world, I'm not sure what sorts of things people are using on Windows that wouldn't be available on Mac. Any pointers/suggestions?

Something like these kind of stats for a site when you dump in the URL

Another way beyond youtube/etc? Like another video hosting service? Or a way to deliver video files to a desktop without a player?

When people say "watermark" videos - do they just mean those ghosting logos or text and so on, or is there another meaning I'm missing?

Thanks

I dont' think keyword elite has a mac version yet.

You know, I've just gotten so used to not having certain things that I've given up on the bulk of it and found other ways to deal.

I'm sure I can come up with a list - given some time.

Oh! A program I promote - I will send you a pm as I don't want to share with the public. Love what the software does, but I can't use it. LOL

A tool where all I do is push a button, it does all the work, and I collect the checks.

In all seriousness - some kind of tool relating to article rewriting, Youtube, or backlinking would be cool.

Hehe, quite right. I am a mac user too and had to install Windows on my mac just to be able to run various IM software I need. Not so nice as I wished, but works :-)
