Default Help me understand rss feeds/ feedburner

So I am just starting with the whole rss submission of my sites, articles etc etc. and I am trying to figure out the difference between using feedburner to burn a feed then submit it to rss directories vs submitting the regular feed available on my site.

As I understand feedburner will show me all the relevant stats as far as how many people veiwed the feed, etc etc, and the regular feed will not. Is that all or are there other benefits?

What do you warriors prefer/use? Feedburner'ed feed or regular? Also, anyone knows an easy way to change the subscribe to feed on a wordpress based site to point to the feedburn burned link instead of the regular one?

Lastly, do search engines count the links found in rss feeds? Seems I am reading some confusing things on this.

Thanks warriors!
